View Full Version : Brad Stevens looks overrated, hes been outcoached in the last two series

In ECSF, the Celtics were a much more talented team than the Raptors, and without HCA it hurts Toronto very hard. Yet the series somehow went to game 7, and they lucked out for a win. In ECF, the Celtics are still the better team on paper, and they are now down 1-3 and it will be just a matter of time before their season ends. Brad Stevens has been outcoached by Nick Nurse and now heavily outcoached by Eric Spoelstra. I wonder what Celtics fans have to say about this, it seems that they are counting on something kind of 'potential' that will never materialize. Of course they will blame it on the injuries of Gordon Hayword, although this game proves that it would not have mattered had he been healthy in the first two games anyway.

I’m pretty sure Stevens doesn’t want smart shooting 10-3’a a game

Let’s blame Brad for all the turnovers we committed too. How do you get out coached when you win a series? Lmao

Boston sloppy ball is on the coach too. He cant keep on going out saying, they just need to play better on the court, like it’s only the players’ fault. There is a lot on him as a coach.

Umm...how did HCA matter in these playoffs? Everyone is playing in the same arena in front of virtual fans.

Of course it matters, the teams with better records got robbed of a home game assuming the series goes to game 7. Also imagine the Bucks and Raptors were playing at home for the first two games in ECSF, theres no chance they'd drop both home games. If the series were tied 1-1 going to game 3, it would change a lot of things. I cant say the same for the Heat, since they did win in 5 games comfortably against the Bucks. But for the Celtics, they would've lost to the Raptors in game 7 if that game was played in Toronto.

Brad can only call the plays, he can't go out there and pass the ball for them. These guys are professionals, if they can't pass the ball to another player without turning it over, that's on them.

When a black comedian is mocking a white person's voice, the voice sounds almost exactly like Brad Steven's actual voice. This thin, nasal voice.

Even if celtics made no substitutions and ran smart iso for 48 mins I would be opposed to a change since there are no better candidates, so beat it.

To all the Celtics fans complaining about Stevens, just be grateful Doc Rivers isn't the headcoach

Agreed.
His position less ball mentality is hilariously stupid in hindsight. We'll never get past the bucks or heat with this roster.
Ainge is a bigger idiot for letting Brad poison his mind with this bs

Yeah, another loss, another ECF exit. He has good floor but the ceiling is low, ECF is as far as he can get.

Stevens is a good coach, but overrated.

He just got annihilated by Erik Spoestra, and frankly speaking even against Nick Nurse in last series it was clear that he got outcoached.

He's fine.
Celtics actually overachieve this season by reaching the ECF.
Heat is just a bad matchup for the Celtics.

The Heat surely is a bad matchup for the bucks, but Celtics really? They are more talented than the Heat and there’s No mismatches. Brad Stevens just got heavily outcoached by Erik spoelstra, this is the difference between the two teams.

His problem is he's a good coach, but not one that does well developing and encouraging talented players to go from good to great. That's the difference.
The Celtics generally were killed in this series because Tatum and Walker had almost no big games. And he doesn't run a system that overwhelming favors their games, not does he push for them to take over games.
