View Full Version : The Climate Change Lockdowns of 20xx

Been meaning to post this for awhile.

The COVID lockdowns have been an incredible success. Science was seamlessly replaced by pseudoscience in early March 2020 (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?484310-The-POTUS-is-on-tape-admitting-he-down-played-the-pandemic&p=14112914&viewfull=1#post14112914) and Western societies have moved further from liberty and the pursuit of happiness and more towards the playbook of the Chinese Communist Party (https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/china-covid-lockdown-propaganda). Under the illusion of saving 0.05% of the population (median age ~80 years old), we've been able to almost unanimously implement regulations and print trillions to help corporations and special interests, while bankrupting small businesses and the middle class. And nobody batted an eye.

The vast majority of the US has approved of being locked down by gov't under we have the illusion of "controlling" the virus... and half the country is begging for more.

With all this success, when do you guys think the climate change lockdowns will begin? Imagine a Kamala Harris rally where people chant: "LOCK US UP! LOCK US UP! LOCK US UP!"

Pseudoscientific models have proven our powerful leaders (*cough* rulers) can save the world from a changing climate, but we'll just need to give up our liberty, money, and power to them. Seems reasonable, right? :confusedshrug:

Well smog cleared from the skies of major cities like never before during the peak of the lock downs, fwiw... that's not an opinion, it's a fact.

Nevertheless, I don't know to what extent humans contribute to the climate change we are currently experiencing, but the reality is, even the people who preach about changing our behaviors don't really change their behaviors to make a true difference.

I mean we'd all have to basically ditch our cars, stop using air conditioners, stop using electricity, and perhaps most importantly... stop consuming unnecessary stuff... which is everything except food, medicine and clothing. Which even the most ardent supporters of "preventing" climate change through our actions do not do themselves.

Climate change preachers are probably the most unintentionally hypocritical people on the face of the planet. But by all means, run down to your local Starbucks while talking on your iPhone and then go around to the rest of us preaching about climate change, lol.

lockdowns have been over for 6 months OP, instead of screaming at your PC you should try getting sunlight and maybe scream at the clouds

What if there was martial law instead of these so-called lockdowns

I'm personally doing very well - but not here to talk about my personal life.

California is still in a stay-at-home order, gyms are still closed, reopening plan from Gavin Newsom makes it impossible to ever reopen.

^That's been known for awhile. Manny posted it many months ago, not really big news, just trendy right now because people are starting to realize what a joke the hysteria has been.

This trending news should be a bigger story: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/29/health/coronavirus-testing.html?

"....up to 90% of people testing positive carried barely any virus."

The CDC noted earlier that symptomatic cases are infectious for only a few days, but PCR tests can detect inactive RNA for up to 12 WEEKS.

NYT is starting to catch up to what the "science deniers" have been saying for months :applause:

Unfortunately, in California we've abandoned tracking -the tiny number of- hospitalizations w/ COVID. Here are the two new criteria for reopening:

1.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Egh85eyVgAADa3U?format=jpg&name=medium

That's right. A tiny number of "CASES" = business restrictions

Knowing false positives are ~2.3% of tests, and 90% of tests are people barely carrying any virus, WE WILL NEVER REOPEN

2.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EgsVtzlVgAAIcNV?format=jpg&name=900x900

Each county will have an "equity benchmark" to hit. We now need policies that ensure COVID-19 infects Blacks and Latinos at equal rates.

Massive amount of entertainment still illegal, same with churches, schools, gyms, weddings, funerals, hospital visitors, etc... not over yet. Day 192 of 15 days to flatten the curve.

Problem gets compounded when you have a nation of average, generic, gullible minds who are not only easily fooled and cowed, but then too embarrassed to admit it once the facts come to light. Most people have a VERY tenuous self confidence, which makes it far more difficult to publicly admit mistakes.

The Covid charade was an obviously ginned up, election year exercise in public hysteria. But it also served essentially as a national IQ test. And a huge portion of the country failed.

Nothin we can do at this point. I suggest smart people out there simply learn what you can from this ordeal and remember how simple most of your neighbors are. Use that knowledge going forward to at least make sure you take care of yourself. Because theres no saving every pleb from their own foolish credulity. If you were smart enough to see through this sham, youve at least got a (third) leg up over most of the rubes out there.

The ****ing lockdown here is so goddamn retarded. Like you said damn near impossible to re open gyms and I read that cali is expected to jump to 89% hospitalizations next month because of labor day so if its true I wouldnt doubt Newsom will make a even stricter lockdown rule.

People can go to a museum but cant go to a gym so stupid.

Hospitalizations going up 89%? Sounds a lot similar to this prediction (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?481119-New-York-Times-These-Places-Could-Run-Out-of-Hospital-Beds-as-Coronavirus-Spreads). Let's take a look at the data:

1.) Nationwide, COVID-19 accounts for 1.8% of ED visits. (source (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/index.html))

2.) Cumulatively, ~550,000 have been hospitalized WITH COVID-19. (source (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/index.html))

However, we know this number is inflated. (sources here (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?481119-New-York-Times-These-Places-Could-Run-Out-of-Hospital-Beds-as-Coronavirus-Spreads&p=14050938&viewfull=1#post14050938))

3.) For comparison, 800,000 were hospitalized for the 2018 flu season (when nobody gave a shit). (source (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2017-2018/archive.htm#ref1))

4.) But what about LA County, perhaps the "hardest hit in CA" by COVID?

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ei9BE9sUYAAVBLH?format=jpg&name=small

LA County has yet to hit baseline 2019 hospital census since the hospitals were forced to be kept at record lows in March. (source (http://file.lacounty.gov/SDSInter/dhs/1070348_DHSCOVID-19Dashboard.pdf))

5.) So no, there will be no "jump to 89% COVID hospitalizations" or whatever bullshit they're feeding the sheep. bladefd, TheMan, falc9, n00bie, ~primetime~, Rooster, rufuspaul, ItsMillerTime, etc can keep eating it, but I refuse. (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?485046-How-many-lives-has-Trump-s-Coronavirus-Team-saved)

We have to follow science and data... not corporate propaganda, Gavin Newsom, Fauci's pseudoscience, and CCP's lockdowns.

Umm, so that the huge number of human rejects living there will continue to view the Democratic establishment as their champions.
