There have been studies to develop a male contraceptive, but they never really get the funding or the traction they need to get to market. The problem is twofold... first, many health insurance plans don't cover contraceptives, go guys would have to pay for their pills out of their own pocket. That means the pill has to be relatively inexpensive, or guys just won't buy. But if the pill is cheap enough to sell, it's probably not going to earn enough to pay back development costs and testing costs and advertising costs and of course the inevitable lawsuits.

Women are willing to pay more for contraception because they have much greater risk if something goes wrong.
