With just 40 days until the presidential election, Joe Biden’s campaign called a lid at the early hour of 9 a.m. Thursday — meaning the Democratic nominee won’t be holding any public events for the rest of the day.

Biden’s campaign blasted out the email at 9:20 a.m., announcing the 77-year-old Democratic nominee would spend the day hunkered down in the Wilmington, Delaware, home where he has been sequestered for much of the coronavirus pandemic.

He says that he's going to prepare for the debate. Sleepy Joe. Meanwhile Trump is tireless, "Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, in Michigan, Wisconsin. All over the place." Campaigning non stop, in front of thousands of people who come out to see him. It's amazing what a person can do at 74 years old.

You can argue that the reason he won them was because he had the energy, the drive to keep going non stop, even in the States that he had in the bag. Because if I remember correctly Hillary was the complete opposite. She just didn't have the energy, and her rally never attracted a lot of people, unlike Trump's. She was the one that needed to step it up, despite all the polls showing that she was going to slaughter him.

Yeah I agree with a lot of what you said, he certainly outworked her and his crowds were way more enthusiastic but she did get 3 million more votes so it's not like he outright got more votes than her, as boring as a candidate as she was.

Maybe, but I don't see how anyone would be scared when it's confidential. I do think there is something to the 'silent majority' in that liberals are more likely to participate in surveys than a lot of conservatives are, different mindsets. But a lot of the polls tried to make up for that in different ways this time around, and a lot of the states are much more poll focused than in 2016.

Another reason to think that polling today is more accurate than in 2016 (I think that article touches on it) is that there are FAR fewer swing voters this time around...everyone has made up their mind already in 2020. Where as in 2016 Hillary was hated by many and Trump was a complete unknown which created a lot of swing votes. But this time around Trump is not an unknown, and the vast majority already know who they are voting for.
