What we are seeing is a symptom of the larger problem. As America’s wealth and position in the world slowly falls, these symptoms will only increase since no one is serious about dealing with the actual problems. The interaction between the two sides is akin to a negative feedback loop as each perceived offensive action will receive a response that is greater, leading to escalation.

people shouldn't have to question whether or not they can go to the doctor when they're in pain or discomfort because they're worried about going half broke over it. health care imo should be a part of the commons - fire, police, mass transit... we all pay into it and nobody complains. if universal hc had been a thing for the past seventy years, we'd all be as used to it now as we are all of the above. we would function a lot better and be more productive as a country if people didn't disregard their health because they're already swamped with bills. if anything should be open for discussion as far as bigger government goes, it should be hc.
