One Year older Lebron James
Once they extend AD with 36 million per year, they will be at 116 million already as total.
KCP - 8.5 million
Rondo - 2.6 million
Howard - 2.6 million
Morris - 1.75 million
Those four are easily going to be at 40 m combined. So that's 156 m if they want to commit, impossible they keep them with Kuzma extension looming too.
Howard will be everyone choice to bring in.
Why the hell would they keep Kuzma? He’s a G League level player.

I beg to differ. I think Lakers are better positioned next year then this one. Because ring chasers were not favoring Lakers over Clippers or other teams. Like Reggie Jackson.
NEXT Year, you want a ring your bought out Lakers will be everyone number one choice.
Markieff Morris will be replaced with someone being bought out. KCP - Rondo - Howard will be kept I believe.

I honestly can see Paul Millsap doing ring-chasing to join Lakers on cheap. He tried to friend Lebron this series with his comments.
No one taking paycut to join Clippers on other hand.

Trade Green & Kuzma should be the Lakers top priority
Green is overpaid and Kuzma doesn't fit, if they can trade them for some reasonable role players they will be fine for the next two seasons
LeBron is still the best in the world and AD is arguably the second best in the world. They don't need a third star just quality role players
They also have that Tucker guy and Anetekumpo who can hopefully develop into decent rotation players
Also the lure of playing for the Lakers will entice veteran players to sign on discounted contracts

They'll have already won a ring.

lmao what are you talking about? lakers can easily re-tool once they lock in AD. Lebron will still be one of the best in the league next year.

That is the only thing that matters. If LeBron doesn't fall off and AD is healthy, they will be contenders, regardless of the rest of the roster.

Dwight Howard was literally out of the league and not a single team wanted him. You think all of the teams are going to forget? Yeah well honestly, they probably will... lmfao.
Oh shit I just was looking at it and just realized that Danny Green is only signed through 2021. That's actually great for them. I either forgot it or never noticed. Well, that's really good. I was afraid he was signed to a 4 year deal or some stupid shit.
Rondo and Howard have both earned over $100 million each in their careers before endorsements(maybe Dwight earned over 200 IDK without looking it up). I guess we'll see who cares the most about continuing to win and who cares about getting more millions they'll probably never spend.
The thing that worries me about re-signing KCP is that there are long stretches where he has looked like a bonafide retard. He's finally settled into being a fairly consistent solid contributor now, but is that because he has the ability to opt out or is it because of playing next to both LeBron AND AD...
I don't know, but their roster next year will be interesting. Do they really need to keep McGee? Bradley was their best perimeter defender all year but they've completely gotten away with his absence as if it were almost irrelevant...
They're still paying $5 million for Luol Deng through 2022. LOL.
The other thing is... LeBron's contract may actually become a major hindrance to add pieces if the salary cap takes a huge hit due to plummeting revenue with COVID closures and massive ratings drops... actually that's probably the most interesting thing this summer... what the salary cap is going to look like going forward... I can foresee some franchises being crippled for a few years by existing deals and there being a potential lockout or strike when players and owners come to an impasse during the next CBA with the plummeting pool of money.
They should deal Kuzma this "summer"... it's pretty clear his value will do nothing but continue to drop, at least on this team, and that he doesn't have a place with them...

They can retool after next year. Every guy they have was signed for a 1-2 year deal. I think they hope McGee doesn’t pick up his po, I’ve read rumors about signing cousins for the min.
Green is the obvious trade option but think it’ll be hard. Kuzma or a guard like Bradley or kcp is easier imo. Could get a bench 6moy type like Schroeder or rose since rondo can’t do it during the rs

And kawhi won't be able to screw around by making us wait for him all summer until everyone else gets signed by other teams

All that matters is LeBron not aging and AD not getting hurt. The rest of the roster will be better if anything. They will retain KCP. Caruso is still young enough to probably improve a bit. Dwight can be retained. DG is still signed and has a contract that can be used in a trade anyways. Finally, when they extend Kuzma they can finally use him (his contract) as a trade piece.

They're not bringing all of those guys back.
LeBron being one year older will not be an issue.
They're going to add a 3rd star in the offseason and unload a lot of guys.

Lebron one year older is still going to be a 22-24PPG 8 and 9-10 assists guy.
KCP is only 27-28. Perfect veteran that's 3 and D
Rondo is really only for the playoffs. Lakers will need a PG to play minutes in the season.
Howard repairing his image, he will go where he gets the most money. Don't see him staying in LA. If a team offers him $8-10M a year, he's gone.
Morris is a roleplayer with size. Good vet.
Green will become tough to start moving forward. You'd need Rondo/capable PG and him in that second unit.
The system is Lebron and AD. When they are there, you just need shooters, and aim to have a guy to give consistent 15-17PPG at SF.
