Well, he is a coward.

The true definition of a coward.

How funny was it when he left Cleveland for the second time and pretended to build that school so the town wouldn't burn his jerseys again.
Nothing more than a PR stunt by an insecure little b1tch

Pat Riley was just pissed because he knew it was going to take a bare ass minimum of 5 years to compete again if LeBron left, and so he was grasping at straws, seeing the writing on the wall and lashing out emotionally. Childish. Almost like a stuck up chick who just got dumped.

The Heat still wouldn't even be competing right now... right this very minute, if this weren't the bubble. I don't believe for a second that Herro & the others would have dealt with the pressure the same way and been in the same spot.

And LeBron was right to leave... how long would it have taken had he stayed? There's no telling, but Riley didn't exactly do a bang up job on LeBron's way out the door. The Heat sucked for years.

You should show more respect to Papa Pat, he has 5 rings and 11 finals without Lebron. If LeBron loses these finals, he will be 1-4 in finals without GOAT riley wow hahahah

turboretard take, continue eating crayons. Heat are a /strongminded/ team and already beat the bucks in Milwaukee without Butler, and handed the Sixers their first home loss of the year. If anything it shows that they play to the level of their competition and rise to the occasion when it comes to the top teams.

and lol the heat were 1 game away from the Conference Final in 16...and the Heat lost Bosh unexpectedly to a freak medical condition too. That's as successful as the Clippers throughout that span.

everyone on that team other than LeBron looked ready to retire after 2014 and he "shored it up" with Shabazz Napier, Josh McRoberts and the corpse of Danny Granger... what else did he expect

Bron's gonna retire this Tony Montana wannabe

Yea thats the funny part... the Heat were making deep playoff runs with Wade 2 years after he left, but apparently he'd need a minimum of "5 years to rebuild to compete". That just goes to show you the threshold it takes for Lebron to win. He needs to be playing with MVP talent and nothing less. And team hops around the league looking for ready made situations instead of fostering long term growth and culture. Of course Riley isn't going to respect a guy who constantly bails on teams for the easy way out.

2015: missed playoffs
2016: 2nd round
2017: missed playoffs
2018: 1st round bounce
2019: missed playoffs

Please tell me where the “deep playoff runS were”. The furthest they got was the second round in the “d-league” East.

Michael Beasley

That's it. That's who he brought to the Heat's 2013-14 roster.
He did nothing else to improve the roster, even though the cracks were beginning to show in the Heat's 2013 playoff run:

Wade averaging 15.9 points over the 2013 playoffs
Chris Bosh scoring 0 points in 28 minutes in game 7 of the finals
Ray Allen was 38
Shane Battier was 35
Chris Andersen was 35

He brings in Michael friggin Beasley to fix all this and then has the nerve to call out LeBron for leaving them after he is by far the best player in the 2014 finals yet still loses the series in 5. I'm glad Shannon called this coward out for quitting the Knicks via a fax to join the Heat.

No, Wade's 15/4/3 and Bosh's 14/5/1 in the 2014 finals was clearly championship-winning caliber help.
Even Hakeem Olajuwon had more help than that in the 1994 finals.

Wrong.

https://s1.gifyu.com/images/RIles-LeBron-Right.png

Riley:

"While there may have been some carnage always left behind when he made these kinds of moves, in Cleveland and also in Miami, he did the right thing. I just finally came to accept the realization that he and his family said, 'You'll never, ever be accepted back in your hometown if you don't go back to try to win a title. Otherwise someday you'll go back there and have the scarlet letter on your back. You'll be the greatest player in the history of mankind, but back there, nobody's really going to accept you. ' "

Riley told Thomsen that after James left, he had no contact with him until the 2016 NBA Finals, when Cleveland played the Golden State Warriors in Game 7. Riley said it was then he finally reached out.

"I didn't want to send him anything that he could read before he hit the floor," Riley said. "As soon as he hit the floor, I sent a text to him. I said, 'Win this and be free.'

And back in May of this year Riley said LeBron was "maybe the greatest player of all time."
