I used a draft like others normally would a word document, I figured it to be safe.
I used it for a few months now to write down thoughts, ideas, findings regarding everything life, politics, physics, sports...
Some true journalistic work in it.
Also wrote down a lot of stuff which explained the recent world to me regarding America and the social situation.
Just combining thoughts and stuff popping up from the interactions regarding BLM topics and the likes... and the background and depth of those issues, pretty detailed stuff, stats dug up too..
Also compiled some things that would be nearly impossible to compile/find/remember again.
Well, yesterday night it didn‘t show me the „saved“ notification when I would hit the save button... I‘m confused, but, well whatever.. I hit refresh, the entire draft is empty.. blank.
I felt ****ing empty. I still kinda do.
I know this might not seem too serious to some of you, but I really valued the thoughts and information and time that went into that draft.
And its all gone in a flash.
They still haven‘t responded on the hotline, but I doubt they can change anything or get anything on a draft... it bugged around pretty hard. I clicked the blank space furiously a couple times and it told me „draft has been deleted or changed“ ?! and created 3 new empty drafts, or maybe only 2, the other was my initial one.
Just bugged around.
Well, whatevz. Had to write this down

Don’t sweat it, as someone who has read many of your posts, you didn’t lose much.

Just consider it good practice.
Now start a blog
Could be a blessing in disguise, sometimes you need to be slapped in the face to grow

OP lost his manifesto? :(
I originally wrote in a gmail draft but gmail was kinda lagging so I copied it all into another email provider (web.de), which I used for a couple months now. The gmail draft still exists and I copied it into a word document for the first time today, 150 pages...
But all pretty rough on the edges and not sorted well.
It must have been up to 250 pages on the new one and rounded off nicely..more creative/innovative content.
Sure, a lot of stuff I won‘t necessarily miss but also a lot I was kinda proud of even without knowing.
Or heck, simple stuff like putting my fav memes/gifs in one place lol. Even that is annoying to lose.

i put it on a word doc, save it to my desktop and the cloud. double safety net right there.

Shogun is a cool dude. He definitely has some interesting perspectives. Again being honest you didn’t lose much, most of the time the act of thinking something out and articulating it through writing is enough. It’s in your brain, you didn’t lose it. You addressed it, processed it, and stored it somewhere up there. It’s in your database and still influencing the very thoughts you are having this moment. You got it.

I can't remember his name. But there's a guy in the Utah Jazz section that wrote a lot of Jazz related information, thoughts, on a daily basis. And then Jeff deleted a years worth of ISH posts when moving to a new server.
Did you use an email client, locally on your computer? If so there might still be hope. Maybe looking in the Windows temp folder. Maybe the browser's cache.

Probably easily accessible anywhere he goes. It was like having something "in the cloud" before it was cool.
OP I'm going to do you a favor and give you a tip. Use Google Docs.

All of this.
Most of us end up learning the hard way, you gotta back up in two places. Physical drive plus cloud. Also just email yourself a copy periodically.
Shogun is a cool dude.
Lol yea right. Thanks for showing ish that you and him are total fukk buddies who are ignorant cucks.

Ironically I’ve debated deleting it for the longest just to free my mind

Yeah but you know how when you get done writing something big down, and it kind of loses your brain space, because you just typed it all out?
Thats what I feel like with most of this..
I think I'll take one day and just go through my entire last couple months browser history to recover some thought processes.

Ironically I just asked a friend who knows his way around a computer if its saveable the lost draft, he said no, and highly recommended evernote, as something of a lebron of clouds/notes or whatever it is, i dont know hah.

Actually *I* should buy one of these. The clicking and return function and etc when you're using one of these is ****ing riveting. Old typewriters are badass.

try a mechanical keyboard
I buy nothing but. I put rubber rings under all the keys on the most recent one because when I play with my friends, the mechanical clacking was too loud and I felt guilty about it feeding into my mic and them having to hear it. Now they can't hear shit and I get most of the mechanical feel.
Nevertheless, an old school typewriter blows a mechanical keyboard away in terms of that feeling. I'm telling you. If you haven't, try it. You actually feel like you're accomplishing shit, lmao.

Nothing much pertaining to LeBron, but everything sports was at a depth you don‘t conjure or understand, probably.

i've never tried a typewriter, but mech keyboards are hella cuztomizable. you can use different switches that affect the feel and sound of the key. like you can get one with the same spring feeling but a 1/4 of the sound and other switches affect the feeling of the spring (heavy or light). crazy how moded some of them are, i've never gotten into it personally but i do enjoy my keyboard for gaming.
and i feel you on the accomplishment feeling lol, interesting how that sound is some sort of reaffirmation.
it also adds to my fury when i am writing a long winded email to bitch to people about issues with work :oldlol:

You've made a name for yourself here for some absolute hilarious grammatical errors. Hilarious is being kind, flat out embarrassing ones for an English speaker.
Some awareness would be appreciated, but you seem to lack that as well.
