Restricted free agent next season - Lakers need back up point guard to spell Lebron. 3 & d guy ( well sorta) & maybe still needed even if Rondo returns as he'll struggle through regular season.

Why would New Orleans not match? He's a great piece next to Zion.

Seemed to have checked out while in bubble.
Ticks all boxes of what Lakers needs going forward regarding most pressing need.
Reunites kuz & ball and who knows maybe hart & Ingrams down line...

Whatever he's going to get paid, for that price, not worth it for the Lakers.

I would love to have Lonzo back if he's cheap. He's perfect for the Lakers. He adds even more size to our already big team. Fantastic distributor and defender. And he shoots better from 3 than any of our PGs. He can also play the 2 when needed alongside Bradley or Rondo for defensive purposes making possibly the most formidable defensive lineup in the entire NBA. But if he's expensive, yeah we can't afford him.

This is not even a discussion, Lonzo's first big payday, he's not coming to LA for a discounted price.

:oldlol:I see what you did there.

Im not saying he's going to get a max contract but probably demand 15mil+ a year. Our needs and his skills would fit nicely with this team but if you think our ft shoot was bad, can you imagine with Lonzo?

He had a horrendous bubble experience but dont expect him to play like that next season.

Crazy stat: He's currently a sub-.500 career FT shooter. If he was a good shooter I do believe that he would be a star but I'm not handing him a big deal when the best he may ever be is slightly below-average. Marcus Smart signed for 4 years and 52 mil. If you pay an inferior version of Smart more than Smart you screwed up so offer 48 mil and see what he says.

Im sure someones going to overpay him, isnt this a trend in the NBA?

The cap is supposed to shrink with the profits this season so maybe not, especially with all the huge deals that have been handed out the last few years. But I will concede they only need one team to defy all logic and think he's Jason Kidd.

He is nowhere close to what Rondo brings to the game.....

True in the playoffs but he's younger and will do just as much if not more in the regular season. He would be a fine signing for LA if he'll come cheap.
