Yeah there are many factors for poor ratings. NBA players wore "I Can't Breathe" shirts before games during the 2014-2015 season. Even supposed Kobe Bryant who we are told isn't political participated and said "We have the ability to question these things, and in a peaceful fashion. And that's what makes us a great country."

The 2015 Finals between the Cavs and Warriors was the highest rated NBA Finals since 1998; Jordan's last finals. The third highest rated NBA Finals game was game 7 in 2016 despite the two biggest stars Lebron and Curry both expressing their disdain for Trump. 2017 had even higher ratings than 2016 despite NBA players expressing their politics throughout the season.

It is almost as if there are many other factors for poor ratings other than politics. 2015-2017 has seen the best ratings since Jordan for the NBA Finals and players were just as political then as they are now.

The NBA players were being asked to spend two months in a bubble which would prevent them from participating community marches. The BLM jersey statements and logos were a compromise between the league and players. The players felt it was important to still show support for social justice while they were being asked to stay away from public events. It was never meant to be a permanent thing, it's really not that complicated.

This is why BLM popularity is plummeting among all racial groups except blacks which has Silver panicking a little. People don't like being asked to conform to a highly controversial ideology or be labeled a racist. Not to mention so many ridiculous things we do every day being labeled racist or at least offensive to someone out there. When BLM started most whites had a positive view of BLM but now that it's been exposed for what it is, most whites in the US have a negative view of BLM these days. Clearly you don't understand that black on black crimes do not go unpunished, if they did people would be marching in the streets for reform as well. Police officers have civil immunity and are rarely even indicted for blatant crimes against citizens. That is the issue, talking about BLM, Antifa, Acorn, and the Black Panthers is just a distraction to avoid dealing with the real issue police brutality and murder against black folks.

The reason why black lives matter less than white lives rn is political. The way to change that is politics. The politics needed to change that is leftist politics, I know this is hard to stomach for americans hooked on capitapism, but thats the truth.
