Let's say the 1996 Bulls pull a 2016 Warriors and choke away the series after being 3 0 up would Jordan still have a goat case if this had happened.
Jordan would have gotten much of the blame for his subpar performances after game 3 once the Sonics put Garry on him and losing that series after being 3 games up would have been far worse than Lebron's 2011 finals meltdown in my eyes.
As I can see the Bulls gm blowing up the team if they had lost in the 1996 finals which means Jordan finishes his career with 3 rings and 1 finals loss and 4 MVPs as he does not win the Mvp in 1998 if the Bulls had been broken up by then as a result of the loss in 1996.
Jordan with only 3 rings and 4 MVPs and his lack of longevity plus having the greatest meltdown in finals history is most likely kicked out of the top 2 all-time with Kareem and Lebron being viewed as number 1 and 2 all-time in this timeline.
Also, Karl Malone benefits the most in this situation if the Bulls break up the band after the 1996 finals loss with 2 rings and finals MVPs plus three straight MVPs from 1997 to 1999 to add with his longevity Karl Malone is most likely viewed as a top 10 all-time player today.
Kemp also gets a finals MVP in 1996
And 3 ball nowadays would most likely be blaming Jordan's supporting cast for the Bulls losing the finals that year with Pippen, as usual, copping much of the blame from him for the Bulls legendary collapse.
