View Full Version : So all LeBron needed to dominate the league was to get his Pau Gasol?

And he’s winning with his 1st year with Pau, while Kobe only won 2 rings in 6 seasons with Pau?

Pau Gasol - three 30 point playoff games (2008-2013)
Anthony Davis - eight 30 point playoff games (2020)

But stats are inflated in today’s league right?

Yup. Not nearly enough to make up the astronomical difference between Pau and AD.

The benefit of playing with a great PG who can get AD in his spots.

Gasol on this Lakers team gets 8-10 30 point games as well

Davis is less than 2 points and 2 percentage points away from a 30/10 full postseason run while shooting 60 percent overall and 40 percent on 3's

Pau was a great player with Kobe, but Davis has had the best playoff run from any big man since '03 Duncan.

AD is worth gasol odom and ariza's value combined.

A true batman to lebrons superman. Gasol and odom are more like robin and batgirl.

I think the league is far more talented now than it was back during 04-11. I really do think that was a down time in the league, and you could get away with having less talent to win at that point.

AD has been a top 5 player every season when healthy since like 2014 or 2015.

Pau Gasol certainly isn't as good as Anthony Davis, but he was an underrated player during their run. He led the 2010 NBA playoffs in offensive win shares and was 4th in the playoffs in defensive win shares. In the finals he was second in the series only to Kobe in scoring and led the series in blocks and rebounds and was 3rd in assists behind Kobe and Rondo. He was a great player who deserves to have his number retired in LA.

AD is unreliable, if he has another 15 point (-26 +/-) game I will be pissed.

My body is ready. Lakeshow in 6.

AD is a top 5 player. Gasol wasn't on that superstar level, although he gets underrated because he was good in every category which doesn't stick out on the stat sheet the way 27/3/2 would because of "27".
