Could someone make a compelling arguement as to who faced the better overall competition in their respective eastern conference. Were the 1990's Knicks, Pacers, Magics, and Pistons really that much better than the Celtics, Raptors, Bulls, Knicks, and Pacers that Lebron faced? I see so many arguments in favor of both, but it seems to me that everyone has an agenda. The 90's knicks only had Ewing and Starks, The 90's Pacers only had Reggie, but the Pistons and Magics seemed to had been pretty solid. Lebron faced the great Celtics (Big 3), a really good Raptors team, a rugged bulls team, and a Pacers team which is ranked as one of the best defensive teams that ever existed. We also can't forget the 60 win team Hawks and the 2009 Magic's. So please, can someone make a compelling arguement if possible?

MJ's best ring = LBJ's worst ring

MJ's best ring = LBJ's worst ring

The end

Lebron needed 2 elite first option teammates or Kareem and shared the load in every category (teammate averaged nearly as many pts, rebs, stls, blks), whereas MJ needed one 2nd option (not elite 1st option) and carried the scoring load (10-30 more than pippen in every series) and shared the other categories like lebron

MJ needed Pippen to save his 1 for 10 playoff record.

MJ was a career loser before Pippen

Lebrons a career loser with every teammate though.

Bulls without MJ=contended for the 1st seed
Heat without LeBron=contended for the 8th seed

You have to look at both sides of the equation. According to MJ stans themselves, the Bulls were so stacked they should have won the East (which speaks to how inferior, in their view, the EC comp truly was) and the chip with Pete Myers in place of MJ.

We know if we swap out MJ for Butler instead of Pete Myers they win the chip in 1994.

who was the star on the 97 hawks? it happens sometimes just because of great teamplay

Yup.

Also look at the 93' Sonics who got to Game 7 of the WCF with Ricky Pierce as their leading scorer (Kemp was good but Payton was a role player at that point in his career) against a team with peak Barkley.
