Or are you living off government welfare and stimulus checks?

Since WFH, I've had a lot more time to start developing my own automated day trading strategies with basic python scripts. I went pretty conservative since I'm a noob but performance so far is promising with a bot doing the clicking for me.

I'm just waiting for a nice foreclosure to pop up and move down to Texas, then I'll contribute more money to this side gig.

What does your script do? I was thinking of creating something like that. I know some python.

I don't know much about trading strategies. So far, I have been focusing on long-term hold stocks that I hope to sell in a year or 2. Couple stocks like Apple/Microsoft/several etfs like one for clean energy I'm not selling for many years

FYI Jizzo, you will need to make sure youve learned by now that the Senate is a part of Congress. You cant embarrass yourself that way once you move to the Lone Star State. Texans are serious about understanding such nuance.

Ironically enough I've been able to save more money during the pandemic. One, obviously the stimulus I banked that. Two, my work the last 6 months hired people in their early twenties and many of them quit or get fired because they can't handle getting up for work and actually coming to work. I guess they'd rather be jobless during this time. I mean don't get me wrong. When I was in my early twenties I called in here and there and faked sick to take a personal day, but these guys be no-call/no-showing and coming in like nothing happened thinking they won't get fired. So because these guys are getting fired for self infliction I've been able to get over-time. Which I don't mind as long as I'm on hourly. I'm getting paid more than my supervisor's salary for doing less.

Easily in various ways, more significantly by refinancing and stock market
less significantly the measly 2.4k stimulus which i threw into the former.

I'm saving on gas since I'm now WFH instead of going to the office, that's about it. Also couldn't go on vacation due to covid, so I guess that's a few grand there as well.

Well I have multiple scripts. A data pipeline from stock API's and scraping news website to reduce amount of research.
I then do some data scrubbing, calculating different parameters to compare them to historical data. I'm doing research into CNN's to do the tuning of my short term heuristics to filter out ranging markets automatically.

Learning python was one of the best decisions I made a couple years ago.

I haven’t used it for the purposes you are using it for but that sounds really interesting. I’ve mainly used it to help with my job.

I’ve been using the spare time during the pandemic to increase my skills but also looking to learn some web development.

Mine definitely has gone up. Supplement sales have literally double during pandemic and more online accounts picked up my line. Not to mention I don't have to pay the overhead of travel.
Also believe it or not my property went up $100,000
Pandemic paid off

Has increased.

Saving more than usual, plus bonus time is coming up next month, will be putting that away too.

Thankful to have a good job in these rough times tbh

Wfh is cool too

my business had its busiest time ever this summer. march/april were a little slow, but may started picking up. by july we were full throttle and i had to ghire 5 guys. starting to get a little slow again, but i figure a lot of it has to do with developers holding off until the election is over. confidence is not strong right now. lowkey hope trump wins so consumer confidence goes back up. biden winning seems like it would create more turmoil.

but idk, there's so much uncertainty i can't even enjoy this year's tremendous growth bc of the consequences from the shutdowns. my main bread n butter were small businesses...and a lot of them are going out of business due to the shutdowns.

but whatever, i am proud of the work we have down. during the shutdowns our most notable projects involved a new Amazon distribution center in Arizona, and an expansion for a data center that services 911 and hospitals.

What parameters do you focus on for stock research?
