View Full Version : If no crowd watches the NBA finals and there is no parade, then did it even happen?

Completely underwhelming bubble season.

Good as exhibition games but no real meaning.

Glad no one got Covid-19 though. Even the President of the most powerful country on earth got Covid-19, so well done to those in the bubble.

I wish we could live in two realities. We all know had Lebron failed to win in the bubble, the bubble we are told has no real meaning would sure as hell have a lot more meaning. The asterisk was always just an anti-Lebron ploy.

Fair point about the players not getting covid

Wasn't there an autistic poster here who guaranteed 100% a player will get covid?

Imagine if it was LeBron who lost a 3-1 lead and went 6/22 in Game 7? We'd still be seeing threads about it on the front page :lol

I love when dudes notify you that their opinions are irrelevant and not to be taken seriously. So you find basketball boring and require theatrics to even remotely enjoy sports? Cool go post somewhere else then fcking crybaby b1tch

For those of us who love hoops this was actually one of the more entertaining playoffs, lots of great duels, big games from stars, buzzer beaters and 7 game slugfests. And that’s not even considering the circumstances that led to the bubble. An especially memorable playoffs this year.

What do you mean? The bubble has no meaning so these people would clearly just make a passing comment about it and move on with their day.

Haha, of course it would be their obsession for years. They still don't shut up about the 2011 Finals and it is been over 9 years now.

Was kinda cool to see some pick up style ball, really lacked a lot without crowds and the proper vibe and everything.

Pretty much. If people are going to come to a basketball board and whine about everything besides the game and go off on how nobody cares and nobody watches for this reason or that, well it is them who are wasting their life on a basketball board. They can f*ck off somewhere else.

Most of them watch pretty closely though. They wanted desperately for Lebron to lose. Even this series after Miami won game 5 they were hoping and praying that the Heat somehow came back. If that happened, we all know none of these people would talk asterisks, low ratings or anything else. They would be celebrating and bringing up this loss as much as they still talk about a finals that is almost 10 years old.

Its as big of an asterisk as can be. No fans and locked in a prison bubble for 3 months, also that mickey mouse backboard. Even the 1950s era with white guy plumbers had it tougher.

Damn, and Kawhi couldn't even hold a 3-1 lead against 7'1 Windhorst there :(

There should be an asterisks marking this playoffs as the most difficult.

No home court advantages, no home or friends or family, total isolation, compressed schedules and facing the most stacked playoff competition in recent memory. This is the gauntlet ring.
