He played the right lineups, rotations, and made great adjustments when they needed to be made.
- Stuck with Javale as starter early in season, despite noise saying to start Dwight
- Never waivered his faith in Rondo, despite negative noise during the season
- Switched to a small ball lineup with AD at center and Marcus Morris during the Rockets series
- This was after they ran AD, Javale and Dwight in game 1 and got blown out
- Switched back to the conventional dual big lineup against Denver, for matchup issues
- Started Dwight in place of Javale because he was the best defender against Jokic
- Switched LeBron onto Murray to shut him down
- Put AD on Butler and nullified him in game 4
- Swapped out Dwight for Caruso, moved AD to center for game 6 and blew them out
He made all the right moves at the right times. Level-headed.

Absolutely can coach defense and pelinka made moves to support him though it was easy to point out the lack of shooting. Once kuzma improved, lakers never played a minus defender

All of these are impressive, but are insta-invalidated by his descisions to put Kyle Kuzma into a game where the Lakers weren't up by 20 and there were less than 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Kuzma is one of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen dafuq?
Everyone else is good though. Well not Morris but he isn’t horrible
absolutely. the coaching staff deserve a lot of credit. the lakers were dominant this year 1st seed in the west and 16-5 in the post-season. this is going to look great on all of their resumes.

Lets also mention some of the things he could have done better:
Promote Kuzma's skills
Get Green and to a lesser extent Pope out of their slumps
Otherwise he's the lakers best coach since Phil. The only coach since Phil who actually cares about defense vs offensive priority.
It's not often these days that a team wins because of defensive abilities. Generally it's been who can outshoot the other and perimeter shooting Miami was/is significantly better.

Kuzma could've done this a hell of a lot better himself. If he has those skills, that is.
