View Full Version : What happens if Markieff Morris switched with Marcus Morris in the 2020 finals?

Interesting scenario.

Lets say Markieff fell down in the shower just before game 5 and get injured, then he called his twin brother and they do the old switcheroo (they had admitted to doing this before btw). No one in the Lakers knew about it. Then they lost game 5. In game 6, Markieff is back and Lakers won the chip. But later on, the league finds out that Marcus had switched for his brother for game 5. What would be the ramification for this? Would Lakers be stripped of the title and it goes to Miami? What if Marcus had also played in game 6, would that make a difference?

Mind blown.

clippers were already a dynasty. adding 20ppg marcus morris now is just overkill

Tbh it wouldnt make sense for the Lakers to switch in a guy who has zero familiarity with the team and the terminology they use for plays etc. They'd be better off using the next guy up from their actual bench.

It might make sense if you have to replace a top 10 player, and could conceivably sneak another top 10 guy in his place.

But for a player like one of the Morris Sisters? Just use whoever's already on your bench.

In this scenario Lakers don't know about it. It's Markieff's personal decision.

Markieff is around 35 lb. heavier than his twin marcus. Those who have keen eyes will immediately notice the latter for being skinnier.

For this scenario lets assume they look similar enough that we can't immediately notice.

Same tattoo design but they don't look identical.

They might have been able to pull this off in the lower levels of competition.

I think for an NBA Finals they would have trouble keeping up the charade even in pregame. Does each one know the personal handshakes they have with other players? Do they know each other’s playbook responsibilities or the things they talked about with coaches earlier in the week?

These two bozos are pretty dumb to begin with. I think someone on the Lakers would get wise to it before tip off.

In any case, whether the team knows or not, they would 100% be forfeited if it was found out.
