In 5 seasons without Pippen his team his team never finished at or above .500.

Ouch.

Meanwhile, Pippen was championship contender twice without Jordan

The 1986-87 season (last season before Pippen arrived) is a perma-stain on his legacy.

Played 82 games.
Averaged a career-high 37.1 points per game.
Had a teammate who averaged 14.5 points, 13.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists, who also played 82 games.
The Bulls finished under .500, well below Dominique's Hawks with 0 other all-stars, as well as below Bucks and Pacers - two teams with 0 all-stars in total.

It's amazing that in spite of irrefutable evidence that is the 1986-87 season, some have the audacity to claim that Pippen didn't rescue him. Just mind-boggling. They've actually convinced themselves through extreme mental gymnastics that this isn't the case.

To the low IQ NBA fans of the 90s Jordan was the GOAT, but the modern NBA fan is so much smarter, knows so much more analytics. Jordan's legacy folds under such scrutiny like a house of cards.

MJ is a fraud, old news here

Yep...And people wonder why his teammates never scored...MJ never let them.

In fact, a prime Scottie had the chance to be a 1st option for once in his career and averaged 22 ppg. He could have easily been a high 20 ppg if he was used to being a first option and had practice doing it...I mean his one and ONLY chance at being a first option in his career (due to MJ holding him back) he went and put out...

22 ppg
9 rpg
6 apg
3 spg
1 bpg

Now just imagine if he had time to hone his skills at being a first option. He would have been close to averaging a triple double in the "hardest era ever" His stats would have easily been around:

25+ PPG
9 RPG (wouldn't go up or down being a 1st option)
8+ APG
3 SPG
1 BPG

MJ had a GOAT supporting cast from the top down. I'll agree that Krause isn't GOAT status but he is so underrated because he was a prick beyond imagination and eventually was the fall guy for the demise of the Bulls...but he acquired all the foundation pieces for the Bull's dynasty. MJ also had the benefit of having one of the GOAT coaches and an extremely good supporting cast...

EVERYTHING was catered to let MJ score and let the rest of the team pick up the slack. It's the same thing that happened with Allen Iverson only to a lesser extent (and a much shorter period). The year AI went to the Finals he had the COY, DPOY (Plus Ratliff who finished 7th in DPOY voting), 6MOY and a top defense. AI did not drag a bunch of nobodies to the Finals.

Finally, for the people who claim Jordan was loyal to the Bulls? He signed a damn 7 year contract as a rookie. He couldn't leave:roll: No one ever likes to bring that up...and in his 7th year they started to win championships so there was no need to leave at that point.

Now-a-days teams are going up against teams of

KD/Curry/Klay/Green/Iggy/Cousins

Lebron/Bosh/Dwade/Allen

compaired to..

Stockton/Malone/Osterteg/Russel

Drexler/Cliff Robinson/Terry Porter/Danny Ainge

Players now maybe lack fundamentals but are more athletic and can shoot the 3.

But if I had to pick, i would say overall from the 20s on up are better.

Even kat with the wolves had more rs wins and postseason appearances without a sidekick as good as pip than him without the latter.

But who cares tho. Baldan was so trash alone that you didn't even need to make this sorry thread.

Lebron at 22, goes to the finals. Jordan at 22 gets swept by Boston in the first round, but hey he scored a bunch of points in a loss! He has that going for him.

They say going 0/1 in the finals that time was already a dealbreaker to have him in goat convos
