Spoelstra was matchup nitemare to Vogel, from 2012-2014 Spoelstra always shit on Vogel.
Then 2020 Vogel shits on Spoelstra.
The difference is who has Lebron, won. Teams wont bother with getting high profile coaches anymore, because it is about who has the players.

Tyronn Lue another example, he failed as coaching assistant with Clippers because he didn't have Lebron.

That is why Clippers, Pelicans, Rockets , Pacers might not bother hiring coaches.

You have it totally backwards... it was Vogel that used to shit on Spo. Spo is a great coach, but the big 3 Heat should've never been pushed to the brink by a baby Paul George and Roy Hibbert. That's a joke. Those series were more competitive than this years Finals.

Miami's best scorer was injured and DNP in the finals. I am not saying the Heat win otherwise although taking LA to 6 despite that is a win for Spoelstra. Beating Milwaukee and Boston as underdogs is another win for Spolestra. Don't conflate good coaching with Doc Rivers, a perpetual underachiever living off that 2008 ring.

But Spo made it to the finals without LeBron.

Coaches aren't all the same obviously - some of them can take a weaker team further on the strength of their coaching. I don't think Vogel would've led the 2020 Miami Heat to the Finals.

Clippers definitely beat nuggets if they had a competent coach instead of doc.

Lebron with white coach: 1-0 finals

Lebron with asian coach: 2-2 finals

Lebron with black coach: 1-4 finals (would be 0-5 if 2016 finals was not rigged)
