Just few minutes ago, WOJ announced that Daryl Morey will step down as Houston Rockets' GM. It's clear that there was conflict between ownership and front office on improving the squad versus saving money. Additionally, it looks like Fertitta will have free reign going forward to prioritize his wishes, which is to maximize profit over winning.

With the Nets, Warriors, and various Western squads expected to improve next year, is Houston's championship window closed?

Sadly yes. Feritta is cheap as hell and I really hate to say it, but with him under ownership the Rockets aren't gonna go anywhere. He's not even willing to pay luxury tax if it means we can get another star

Morey is leaving, not James Harden. Their chances remain roughly the same.
