It's taken Lebron basically 17 seasons to accomplish what he's accomplished and he's still chasing him. MJ accomplished more in technically 11 seasons as a Bull than Lebron has in 17. LBJ is going to spend double the time just trying to catch MJ in MPVs, FMVPs, rings, and whatever else. What's LBJ done besides pass MJ in scoring in regular season and playoffs which yet again took him way longer to reach than it did MJ. All LBJ has going for him is his pretty stat line because of the type of player he is and is a direct result of him staying healthy throughout his career. A true contender to MJ's status would have piled on those achievements in as little time as MJ did and made it better. Not just "close enough".

You're going off those awards but we all know James has been royally screwed in those categories a few times.

You can't factor in FMVP's when Russell literally didn't even have the opportunity to win them for 10 of his titles. If they did he'd be GOAT by a significant margin by this metric

Lebron still can't win more that he loses in his NBA finals tho. Embarassing.

No one else had the chance to play 2 series to win titles either. He only had to win 2 series for 8 of his titles and 3 series for 3 of his titles. Never had to win 4 series to win a title. So it balances out. Also he got bye rounds while other teams had to play an entire series before playing the Celtics such as 1965.

But why can't he WIN more than he LOSES? Is he really a WINNER if he LOSES twice more than he wins?

Russell played in the pre-finals MVP era and this really removes all context from how rings are acquired. Plus you get shit like Shaq at number 9 because he only won a single MVP award, which is batshit insane to me. Wilt at 10 is too low as well. Granted, all the names there are generally people considered top 10 players and the top 4 being MJ, Russell, Kareem and Lebron regardless of whatever order you wish to put them in does fairly show that those 4 are really in their own tier.

Curry has 5 points based on this list as well ( 3 titles, 2 MVPs).

Never though mj was the goat. Just thought he was better than bron. Brons coming for him though. Longevity is gonna be his best argument. If he stays healthy he'll blow all the totals out of the water.

LeBron has a better peak than Kareem and way better longevity than MJ whilst having virtually equal peak play that's why he's the GOAT

I'm convinced MJ thought he did all he could in 1998

Tied Kareem in chips, passed Magic by 1
Finally passed Kareem in playoff scoring
Most game winners
Most Win Shares

He was safe. Until LeBron came and passed him in everything :lebronamazed:

This started at least a decade ago so it's not new to Jordan stans. Pippen said LeBron was the greatest in 2011. Oscar said it in 2010. We've been having this conversation for a long time, so they all knew the day was coming.

They've just been trying to hold off the inevitable.
