Yes imo, voting is the most fundamental civic duty in a democracy and this helps prioritize it.

It's not a bad idea but unnecessary if we just make voting easier. Which can be accomplished by expanding things like mail-in voting.

Umm more people are voting early or by mail in ballot than ever. If there was ever a time to offer a holiday it’s not now. In a year where we have seen the most significant drop in gdp a holiday should be out of the question.

anyways, voted today, on a weekend. There’s plenty time to vote, no need for time off. I also live in a state that allows mail in. Wife and I were in and out in a matter of minutes.

If Columbus Day is a federal holiday, Election Day most certainly should be but the reality is: Congress doesn't want everyone to be able to vote... Look at the early voting lines in Georgia, for one example. It's pretty easy to see.

Hopefully that's a Trump ballot. But it should have been set on fire first.

If people are opposed to making it a holiday then Election day needs to at least become election weekend imo. Everyone votes on first Saturday and Sunday in November instead of first Tuesday of every November.

It gives people an extra day and would be on their off-day. It works better than Tuesday..
