To be fair, wanting more playmaking has been a consistent theme for LeBron for several years as well. Difference is when there isnt any available, LeBron is fully capable of taking the primary responsibility there. Kawhi on the other hand, is incapable of generating consistent offense for anyone but himself.

Kawhi always had a team that had consistent ball movement without Kawhi on the floor. Spurs and Raptors had excellent coaching.

Having to be the floor general for the first time of his life is something he just can't do every night.

Great player, definitely top 5 player. But there's a big gap between what Kawhi contributes and what LeBron contributes every night.

This is what I've been saying about the overhyped Clippers from day 1, ever since they got Kawhi and George: They don't have anything that resembles a floor general.
Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley's assist numbers COMBINED are worse than the assist numbers of some point guards.
Kawhi and George are 4 assist per game averaging offensive black holes with no play-making capabilities whatsoever.
How was there ever going to be any flow in their offense? They could live off Kawhi's, George's, Williams' and Harrell's individual scoring, but only to an extent. Because as an offensive unit, they're like headless chickens.

Kawhi wants them to land a Kyle Lowry or a Tony Parker. Clippers don't have time to develop one, and the teams that have that caliber of player aren't looking to trade them away for what the clippers can realistically offer.
