Kareem had it pretty easy that year. Only 3 playoff series back then as well.
2nd round vs spurs: Kareem is 2nd leading scorer to norm nixon and Lakers have one other 20 PPG scorer and two other 16PPG scorers. Stacked like pancakes
3rd round finals vs 76ers. Kareem only averages 18PPG the same as Kawhi. Lakers also had a 20 PPG scorer, 18PPG scorer and two different 16PPG scorers!
Straight stacked like pancakes. Kawhi also didn't have a point guard/floor general anywhere close to Magic.

Your ability to create topics needs to be revoked. Kareem>Kawhi. The end.

Is this a serious post? Ironically, I was told by another user he didn't want to be taken seriously. That some kind of theme on here? :confusedshrug:

1974-1979 Kareem had 5.0 playoff VORP
2015-2020 Kawhi had 7.6 playoff VORP
Goat Kawhi is running circles around "big fella" Alcindor hahahha and then in 1980s he just got carried by Magic.

Kareem lost to D. Cowens in the 1974 finals you do know that right? Cowens looks like a general manager at a car dealership hahahah
Finals embarrassments are worse then 2nd round embarrassments because it's on the bigger stage.

Kawhi couldn’t beat Brian Windhorst up double digits with a 3-1 lead going into the fourth quarter of game 5 and then he legit had one of the biggest chokes ever in game 7. He’s top 75 at best. “GOAT” :yaohappy:

Kareem may be the most overrated player of all time.
He won 1 ring in a whole decade, Magic came along, and totally saved his career.
Kareem never made anybody better.
Magic made EVERY body better.

The names Kawhi and Kareem don't belong in the same sentence. Kareem is the 2nd greatest game 7 performer in NBA history, while Kawhi was dead last 17th out of all 17 players assessed. Did you miss that thread? I can bump it for you.
You're welcome:
Breaking down every playoff game 7 for all top 20 ish players. Incredible list with great information.
Top 3 Game 7 players: LBJ, Kareem, Durant
Top 3 Worst Game 7 Players: Kawhi, Garnett, Kobe
One thing I noticed was that LeBron had 3 game 7s with a 30+ Game Score whereas no other player in league history has more than one. The ones that do are listed below:

This post was made without a hint of irony. Kareem was carried by Magic the guy he significantly outscored because he ran the offense, but Davis carried LeBron because he scored 2 more points in 9 more minutes while not running the offense. Can’t make this shit up.

Exactly, especially the ones with pat riley. Lakers offense was built around magic during Showtime era. Kareem had 1 all time great MVP year with magic only in 1980 but failed to play in close out game or win finals mvp. 1970s he was always losing besides the year Jerry West was injured.

That didn't dispute my point at all. Kareem lost in the ABA era plenty of years. Jokic would average 30 points 15 rebounds in the 1970s

But Davis advanced stats are close to LeBron. Magic always crushed Kareem in advanced stats outside of 1980.

I don't agree with your OP although you are right about AD/LeBron. Davis outscored LeBron per game, out-rebounded and out-shotblocked him while anchoring LA's defense. Had more winshares too if you want to make it analytical. What is your take on AD not being talked about in the same light? We hear "GOAT" chants from LeBron fans but his alleged sidekick outplayed him throughout the playoffs. :confusedshrug:

LeBron had more points per possession AD only scored more because he played more lol. And LeBron had the higher BPM, VORP and PER while also out rebounding and out assisting him. Nice try, coach.

They are a dominant duo like Jordan Pippen, Durant Curry, Shaq Kobe.
They have an unfair advantage against guys who carried their teams like Kawhi and Dirk.

Kareem needed superstar point guards to win chips. Kareem could not win anything without Oscar in Milwaukee or Magic in Los Angeles. If you look at his career in Milwaukee it is really bad by him missing playoffs while during his prime.

LeBron's weak GOAT case hinges on him playing more. :oldlol: If that's your argument go back to the drawing board.

Pippen was never as dominant as 2020 AD. Nor ever outscored Jordan during any of their playoff runs. I agree that LeBron/AD are a dominant duo, but why isn't AD being talked about as LA's best player? Better scoring per game, more efficient and has bigger defensive impact. LeBron averaging more assists and marginal rebounds doesn't nix that clout.

*winning more not playing more
compare 10 years mike and 10 years bran dont you rememebr the results?
no more anti 'longevity' for the mike fans lets just use the playoff stats for 10 best years of both. i took out mikes three 1st round whoopsies when daddy pippen and papa phil was not there to save him and boost him into 2nd round. this is comparing mikes 10 best years with brans. lets see if he wins anything more (mike doesnt)
stats for 10 best years
pts
bran, 5911
mike, 5632
ast
bran, 1510
mike, 959
reb
bran, 1611
mike, 1089
stls
bran, 362
mike, 352
blks
bran, 192
mike, 143
even if i erase mikes blemish whoopsies from his 1-9 and only take the 10 best playoff runs from t both of them he still loses
its not longevity. its called goat consistency. its called advancing to finals gets you better stats.
10 finals > 6 finals
