My personal theory, IF the repair guy story is true, is that Hunter took the laptop for repair on purpose while drunk and/or high, as a way to turn himself in. I won't speculate on the veracity of these allegations but will point out the heck of the timing on these. Agreed, the timing is impeccable at the end of the election. I don't know if I'd count it as any particular timing in term of investigations though, Trump just survived an impeachment at the end of last year.
Also, technically it's not the allegations that are coming now, but the proof toward them. People have been talking and pointing out the Burisma stuff for a long time, same about Hunter deal in China about $1.5 billion for his hedge fund which has been public for a while.

The 188k in "tax" payments that were paid out of this account occurred between 2013-2015 and were charges associated with licensing deals that Trump Hotels was pursuing in China at the time.

I believe this is the head of that committee, who's angry that they didn't get the information from the laptop so they would have had all the evidence. On the flip side, he's also asking for the FBI to come out and say if they believe the emails are fake, but I don't believe they have.
Very likely that some people on that committee could be compromised as well and be in on a cover up. Like with Burisma, Joe's family is not the only one that gets paid.
This is what they do, they silo up the information and investigations so no one ever has to connect the full picture in order to claim someone are doing things right. Look it can't all be true or false.

Either the FBI had or didn't have this laptop for almost a year, and if head of that committee is asking them about the information on it, it certainly sound like they had it. Kind of the same with the subpoena we were discussing.

So if they did have the laptop since December, either the FBI did nothing with the information because it's not criminal, or they did an investigation and found the emails to be fake, or there's an active investigation for almost a year.
I think the last option is the information is real and someone there did nothing on purpose, either in corporation with Biden/DNC, maybe to get them back into power. Or the alternative is someone there did it on their own, with it being something that could then be used to blackmail the next President if he won.

If the FBI believes these emails are faked by Russians, then it's national security threat and Ratcliff should be aware.

He was also on Amtrak board appointed by President George Bush (few years as vice-chairman of Amtrak board). He also started his own investment firm and lobbying firm.
