Quibi, a video startup that began just six months ago, is already shutting down.

They raised at least $1.75 BILLION, per multiple reports.

It was a pay streaming service, for quick under-10-minute mini video features.

Just in this past week, Quibi had finally launched apps to get onto the Fire TV and other smart TV / streaming media devices.

Silly Business model. During a time when people are cutting their cable, the idea people were going to pay a monthly fee for 10 minute videos was crazy. They'd've been better off selling the idea to Netflix or Amazon, and handling all the production. People actually pay monthly fees for apps just to track what and cancel what monthly subscriptions they have. The idea isn't horrible, it's just a fancied up version of the short attention span videos that make YouTube work so well. But you gotta know your audience. That audience is kids who aren't paying monthly subscription fees.
