Again, these countries benefited tremendously from the innovations pioneered in America. Created through capital investment and immigrant (as well as slave) labor. Euro countries could set up boutique economies and enjoy the benefits of cars and televisions and refrigerators and telephones and medical technology and washing machines and computer software... all of which was either invented in America or made here throughout most of the 1900s. All Belgium had to do was keep pumpin out the chocolate and their small population could focus on creating Pleasantville.

America has a different purpose. And for many people around the world, including your ancestors, its market economy provides the best life quality by far, even without socialized medicine.

Im not saying you shouldnt look to improve America in reasonable fashion. If you wanna promote healthier living which will lead to reduced medical costs for everyone, great. But my point is its INTENDED role and the way it has largely functioned is as a place where people could come and enjoy certain rights that could not be violated.
