It isn't just him stacking the deck - his team-hopping lessened the quality of basketball because short-term mercenary teamwork is nowhere near the organic teamwork/strategy of prior eras
The days where fans could witness the highest quality strategy, chemistry and brand of basketball are gone because lebron replaced organic teams with team-hopping - he brought the same talented-based winning that lost the 04' and 06' international games to the modern NBA

This dude sitting at chipotle with Lebron or Steph on his mind itching to make a topic and hate like a smoker in a bar who can’t help but light up when he drinks.
Be one thing if he could think of new shit to say. This guy has such an emotional investment...the internal pressure builds up so much...he has to make multiple new topics saying the same thing just for the relief.

What is there to think through? - it's a simple fact
short-term mercenary chemistry is nowhere near the organic chemistry of prior eras, so today's fan is robbed of the highest quality teamwork and strategy, aka brand of ball
Lebron simply ruined the game with his "decision" to seek talent-based winning over developing the best brand of basketball

he wouldn't make the league in the 70's... I don't even think he'd be a ballplayer at all back then

He did that before he entered the league - it was an extension of being drafted, not a mid-prime decision after getting the lay of the land
Lebron's move started a trend where now everyone does it.. and this short-term, mercenary teamwork is inferior to the organic teamwork of prior eras.. talent-based winning is an inferior brand of ball, so fans are cheated from seeing the organic chemistry needed for the best brand
For example, the bad boys wouldn't exist today because they wouldn't have time to develop their unique style, pace and identity... Prior eras allowed teams to develop their own style and pace, and these unique identities clashed in an interesting battle... Now it's just talent-based winning, while the media must hype up a fake battle
Roundball_Rock

Player movement makes it harder for a team to stay on top as the balance of power constantly shifts, to varying degrees, as moves are made.
We were all alive when the Clippers were considered the best team and favorite all season because they added Kawhi, PG to a 48 win team core. LeBron haters incidentally loved the Clippers and touted them, with zero complaints about Kawhi and PG "colluding."

lebron's "decision" turned the league into WWE
Organic teamwork developed over years has been replaced by short-term mercenary teamwork (talent-based winning)..
the organic teamwork of previous eras would destroy today's talent-based winning.. lebron did this.. he ruined organic, quality teamwork and basketball.. the NBA = AAU.. best recruiter wins
But I'm happy for you that you enjoy it
Then there's the weak era on top of the colluding.. pure scoring is DEAD.. Jordan wouldn't need this move in today's hands-off, spaced-out dance routine
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gmesUA1mGbI&t=07m40s
^^^ 3 defenders beat and 2 change of directions with 1 dribble... In today's game, the defenders wouldn't be there and MJ would need like 4 less moves and garbage feetwork

While I do understand where you're coming from, I think that this is a very simplistic approach. LeBron is symptom of a greater issue, and it certainly doesn't start with him. This is the evolution of popular culture in America that has been going on since the 20s.
In the 90s, guys like Jordan and Pippen were barely paid. By the 1996-97 season, Jordan got an incredible amount after 11 seasons in the NBA. He averaged about $2-3 million a year prior and saw his salary go up to over $30 million.
But the real tipping point begins with Kevin Garnett. KG in 1997 landed a 6 year $128 million dollar deal. The late 90s saw salaries skyrocket across sports. And it was KG that really ushered in the era of gigantic contracts for star players.
I'm a Yankees fan and I remember the 1998 season which was iconic for NY. Bernie Williams won the batting title and he was set to be a free agent. The Yanks didn't want to give him big money so guess what he does? He threatened to go to Boston.
Once Bernie got his deal, the rest followed. We saw big deals from Kevin Brown, Mike Hampton, Carlos Delgado, and eventually A-Rod's famous $252 million dollar deal.
Players began to own the game itself and fans fell in love with the long ball, much like fans have fallen in love with the 3 pointer. It's tough to watch literally half the plays being players running up and down the court launching threes. No offensive schemes, little ball movement, post up plays with isolation on the regular. Very little of that.
But as always, young fans drive this and the parents that fund them support it. Media and advertising understand this, so it will only get worse.
Look what happened to Hip Hop. We grew up on Kool G Rap, KRS-1, and rappers like Rakim who introduced lyrical cadence and word play, then Nas, Tupac, Big, and Eminem.
By 2008 about, something starts to shift. The quality of Hip Hop seemingly dropped, yet album sales and money in general was at an all time high. Why? Simple. Young people buy this stuff.
So I don't think you're wayyy off, but this is too complex a topic to simply boil it down to LeBron. The NBA's ratings had fallen significantly after 1998, too. In case you have forgotten, MJ's reason to return in 2002 was because of the ratings and how low they had fallen. He gave the NBA a boost and donated his salary.

He also has admitted he has not watched any NBA game since 2011. So when you hear him talk about players like George, AD, Giannis you know he has never watched them play or when he talks about others like Harden, Curry he has never watched their primes.

Gotta disagree on this one. Rating suck from from a few factors. The main thing is the coronavirus the bubble and no fans. Its just not the same. Another factor is the product itself. Nobody wants to watch players flop and refs making soft wack ass fouls all game. Another factor is the blm stuff. The nba audience is predominantly white and most of them dont want to hear it. The last is alot of people are streaming now.
If anything bron is the only thing holding the the league together. Nobody wants to watch the heat vs the nuggets in the finals.

Before I address your thread......Jesus Christ what a meltdown, almost a decade strong. Shit is unheard of. :biggums:
Now about this thread....I'm sorry, but the world you have awakened to is in the year 2020. The game of basketball has evolved business wise (CBA) to the point where we have more players on shorter term deals. What does this mean? It means we enjoy far more robust free agent classes and see our rosters turned over far more frequently than the ancient days of 199X. So unfortunately what appears to be "mercenary teamwork" to your ancient eyes is actually the evolutionary results of the years you spent in basketball hibernation. I cant imagine your shock of seeing half the league pull off moves you thought only the best player was capable of. Not to mention the disbelief you must be in to see a Karl Malone sized man ruling the game from the perimeter while doing things no man his size should. We get it and we're here for you. Kblaze and RMWG are saints doing God's work for helping facilitate your recovery. God Bless.:applause:
