Jason Williams' famous behind the back off the elbow pass to Raef Lafrentz in All-Star weekend comes to mind. It was so flashy that Lafrentz kinda fumbled the ball. He wasn't expecting it.

Jason Williams was the name I immediately thought of. Manu had some insane passes as well, but I never got the impression that he was trying to be flashy. He just saw that pass as the best way to get the ball to whoever was open.

He's obviously not a better passer than Magic but he's up there with anyone in flashiness. That's the only thing that I said. I don't know why I got such an angry response. It's not exactly controversial to say that about Pistol Pete.

I got on you because you always denigrate Magic's passing. You don't even have him as the best passer in the game. Slowly but surely now he isn't as flashy as a turnover prone guy who the ball use to bounce off his own head. Pete was hard to watch a lot of the time. He could score like crazy. But he wasn't efficient, effective or clean. Flashy without those qualities is a waste. And you are saying he was more flashy than the guy who was the most efficient, clean and effective. I wasn't mad at you but I find it ridiculous at times.

Would you, or Danko, dare say he was effective, clean or efficient? There was a reason why the Globetrotters got a lot of attention while being flashy. Nobody wears flashy clothes and then is sloppy on top of it. Cousy would have been a much better choice. If you said Jason Williams even better still.
