Hopefully this changes things for the better. Someone that might actually spend money. The guy that bought them looks like a douche though

I thought this was the team that had owners that wanted to keep it in the state and had set up some kind of trust? Or am I imagining something?

They did set up a trust so I'm not exactly sure how this works. This guy is from here and is keeping the team here for the time being

The Miller family placed the Jazz in a legacy trust in January 2017. Miller said she believed “the objectives of the trust will be honored” and that the new owners “have made the same commitment to keep the team in Utah.”
“Our commitment is that we’re going to build on your legacy,” Smith told Miller. “We couldn’t be more grateful for you.”

Wasn't just about keeping the team here. All the profits were supposed to go back into the team instead of their empire that was built on the profits as they refused to spend on the Jazz.
