View Full Version : Why did Lebron only win the championship 4 times? What happened to the other 6 times?

Was he too busy accumulating Eastern Conference Trophies? That he forgot to win the NBA championship?

Simplest answer is usually the correct one;

He's just not that good.

Yh man LeBron is such a scrub I can't believe people would have a pathetic loser that only has 4 championships in the top 10.

No trolling the reason he lost half of those finals is because either his team wasn't very good or because he was going up against a much better team. He gets a pass for his first one against the spurs and he gets a pass for 15 when love and kyrie were out. He also gets a pass in 18 when kyrie left. Every other loss there's no excuse.

A sport is supposed to be a competition. Too much dominance results in lowered viewership. He tries to keep the plot interesting but sometimes he gets a bit too hyphy and wins when he shouldn't have(2016, 2020). LeDeusExMachina.

Why does he keep reaching the NBA Finals tho?

Does it have anything to do with a... Let's say, historically weak conferences?

Yes definitely that helps but it wouldn't make a difference if he was in the tougher conference. Actually for bron haters who bring up his win/loss finals record they wouldn't be able to use that because brin would be 4/4 right now which to some mj stans is better.

No. Basketball doesn 't work like that. Its not just a matter of removing his finals record losses assuming he reaches the finals from out West.

Obviously in this hypothetical reality one little thing could change everything but at face value uf you take bron and his teams and put him in the west and nothing else changes he'd most likely be 4/4. all the loses he had in the finals would now be we western conference loses instead of finals loses. Its pretty simple really.

Well in two of them, LeBron had the worst performances EVER for someone ranked "Top 10". Shot in the 30 percentile vs the Spurs and was horrible in 4th quarters. Then there is 2011 Dallas. I could just say "2011 Dallas" and we already know the implication. It was THAT bad :oldlol:

Here you go, OP.

2007 - Team Stunk
2011 - New Team Year 1, Chemistry Problems
2012 - CHAMPION
2013 - CHAMPION
2014 - Wade and Bosh M.I.A., Teammates Burnt Out
2015 - New Team Year 1, Kyrie and Love injured
2016 - CHAMPION
2017 - 73-9 + KD, Teammates not good enough to match
2018 - Kyrie Gone, Team Stunk, Teammates Burnt Out, 73-9 + KD
2020 - CHAMPION

Primary reasons are a combination of:

- Low talent level of teammates
- Teammate injuries
- First year on new team
- Teammate finals fatigue in 4th consecutive visit

Hope that helps!

Yep. That sh!t was embarassing.

I remember his his historic record loss against an old Spurs team, he was still in the 2nd half of the "out of reach" games statpadding so the media and fans could just point to his stats and say its not his fault. What a fraud.

No, you're just mad.

- Low talent level of teammates

- First year on new team
- Teammate finals fatigue in 4th consecutive visit

Those are the reasons. Everyone understood this as they watched his career unfold, which is why so few have a problem with him either being the GOAT or right there with Michael Jordan.

In other words, nobody holds 2007, 2014, 2015, 2017 & 2018 against him. The only year they may have an issue with is 2011, but again, it was his first year on a new team and his first time living away from Cleveland, so that's understandable as well.

If someone said that or called a 4x champ a "loser" like is done with LeBron in the context of fans of any other sport they would get laughed at. LeBron Derangement Syndrome has such a foothold among NBA fans that people can say that and not draw the same reaction, though.

The answer is kind of complex...

2007 - Unrealistic to win but he still played very poorly.
2011 - Horrific showing as a slight favorite no less. This is a ring he simply left on the table.
2014 - Team underperformed and Lebron wasn't very impactful. All the losses were blowouts against a team which Lebron could have beat.
2015 - Unrealistic to win due to injuries.
2017 - Probably unrealistic to win and played well but still outplayed by Durant.
2018 - Unrealistic to win. Played very well but faded as the series went on.

I think you can make a case that he could have played better in all these series. I wouldn't necessarily but you can make a case. His finals record if he was the true GOAT would be 6-4. Gotta beat Dallas in 2011 and then either win 2014 or 2017 or at least push these two series to 7 games or something.
