LeBron made the Finals in his 14th and 15th seasons

MJ was a low efficiency, 20 ppg on 48% TS chucker :oldlol:

LeBron was 27/8/8 on 57% and Top 3 in MVP voting

Actually MJ's Wizards were better than .500 in 01-02 until Jordan get hurt. He was averaging like 25/5/5 as well IIRC. That team wasn't very good outside of an almost 40 year old Jordan.

Kareem won at 41, started every game

Made a significant impact in '87 at the age of 40 vs the Bird-McHale-Parish Celtics

Won Finals MVP against at the age of 38. 22/7/1/2.5 on 51-67%, 55.2% TS in 34 mpg

Malone did @ 40, Grant did @ 38 Ray Allen did @ 38, Duncan did @ 38, Kidd did at @ 38, Kevin Willis @ 40, Kerr @ 37 David West, etc, etc

Not playoffs btw, this is the Finals

I think MJ tried to hard to be a #1 option which was a disaster in his old age, it reminded me of Kobe still trying to be "The Man" in the twilight of his career when it was clearly time for him to be a #2 or #3 option but egos get in the way.

3ball used to brag about doug collins being better than phil jackson yet the former didn't even do anything worthy for the wizards while baldan was missing in the lineup, despite having hughes and stackhouse in the same team. Didn't elevate 2001 numero uno pick kwame brown either. :confusedshrug:

That is what Stackhouse said, that he was a 30 PPG scorer a season or two prior and they should have run the offense through him but they were doing it via an old MJ.

MJ wasn't MJ by that point. If you put 38 year old KAJ (who didn't have the benefit of 5 seasons off) on those teams they make the playoffs, though.

He was 39 and 40 years old already, you can try harder next time.

Simple. Kareem played on better teams. You're seriously comparing the Lakers to the 2001-03 Wizards? Unbelievable.

At 41, Kareem played alongside the MVP, Magic Johnson. Three of LAL's players averaged 20 PPG (Worthy, Magic, Scott) and AC Green was a defensive menace, finishing with All-Defensive honors.

So let me guess, you give MJ that level of offensive and defensive support and what happens, he misses the playoffs?

Some players had better longevity than MJ, but you post a bunch of players that aren't even on MJs level, for what purpose exactly?
