Has Durant taken over Dr. J?
Dr. J had a bigger impact of course, but Durant is a much better scorer.

Dr. J:
NBA champion (1983)
NBA Most Valuable Player (1981)
11× NBA All-Star (1977–1987)
2× NBA All-Star Game MVP (1977, 1983)
5× All-NBA First Team (1978, 1980–1983)

Durant:
2× NBA champion (2017, 2018)
2× NBA Finals MVP (2017, 2018)
NBA Most Valuable Player (2014)
10× NBA All-Star (2010–2019)
2× NBA All-Star Game MVP (2012, 2019)
6× All-NBA First Team (2010–2014, 2018)
NBA Rookie of the Year (2008)
4× NBA scoring champion (2010–2012, 2014)
50–40–90 club (2013)

So has Durant surpassed Dr. J yet?

What say you?

There are several players ahead of Durant that he's a better scorer than, so it's more than that. Though I do wonder if Dr.J gets an automatic pass into the top 15 because he's considered a pioneer. He seems to get ranked like 13th or 14th or whatever in most lists I see and it seems to be a mostly unquestioned ranking.

Not yet but he's very close. Don't forget Julius has 2 ABA titles plus a couple of MVP's.

You can't leave out Dr. J's ABA years. Those years were everything. He is who is he is because of his time in the ABA.

I am not even confident that Durant has surpassed Hondo, then you are asking if Durant has surpassed Dr. J.

If Durant wins another title, i would put him over Dr. J, until then NO.

As any Dr. J ranking related discussion, it depends on how you measure Dr. J's ABA accomplishments, most notably 3 MVPs, 2 rings, and 2 "Playoffs MVPs". If they're measured the same as if they were in the NBA, then no.

Y’all so disrespectful. This isn’t debatable at all. KD is the GOAT. Only one man you can make a case being on the same level as KD is MJ.

Dr J can be argued as the greatest SF all time especially after winning the dunk contest.
