His position was that he would eliminate the Trump tax cut which was a tax cut to most every American. If he eliminates the Trump tax cut it would raise taxes on just about everyone. He never pushed a specific tax platform other than eliminating Trump's cut and then when he was caught he started lying about only raising taxes on those above 400K.

I hate to dwell so much on masks, as they aren't my top concern, but mandating that everyone wear them is reckless and irresponsible.

I've been wearing a surgical mask 40 to 50 hours per week since March. Personally, I know several people who have had massive acne breakouts wearing masks. I've seen negative effects from having mask police at work, people freak TF out when someone takes off their mask, etc... had one guy panic & claim he was a lawyer and he was suing because he saw someone not wearing their mask properly.. You say it's a very small price to pay, so let's dig in to some potential downsides to a mask mandate.

One, it sets a bad precedent for science. In western medicine, we base recommendations on safety and efficacy trials. Mask mandate has not shown safety or efficacy.

Two, humans aren't supposed to wear masks all the time. We need to see faces.

Three, asymptomatic transmission is very rare.

Four, forcing millions of elderly to wear them could slightly increase risk of falls.

Five, what % wear them properly in practice? How long before they dispose of them or wash? Does everyone change their surgical mask every 2-4 hours?

Six, increase potential for bacterial and fungal infections?

Seven, one study indicates that anywhere from 5-10% of the world population is affected by severe claustrophobia. How many of these people will be forced to wear a mask? Any negative effects for them?

Eight, emotional expression. Are there costs to losing the ability to emotionally express? Our emotional expressions undergird our social relationships.

Nine, increased skin irritation, miliaria (heat rashes), and acne.

Ten, resources. How much money and time will be spent on this? Who will enforce this? What should the punishment be for not adhering? (As a libertarian, this should be quite important, no?)

Eleven, societal impact in the west. This is a HUGE cultural change inflicted upon millions who would prefer not to wear them, some having to wear them 40 hours per week. How many have had a reduction in quality of life due to this? (Have personal freedoms ever been considered in discussions on mask mandates?)

Twelve, does anyone wearing a mask have their breathing negatively affected?

Thirteen, children. Children are potent vectors of transmitting influenza, but not Covid-19. Should they be forced to wear them? All day at school?

Fourteen, how many masks does it take to prevent 1 infection? A study in Norway showed (using the most generous assumption that they worked), based on infection rates, for every 200,000 masks worn, 1 infection could be prevented.

Fifteen, How many times will something be miscommunicated because a mask is worn? Plenty of jobs require in person conversation where important details (on how to take a drug, for example) are discussed face-to-face. Wearing a mask increases the risk of important info not being understood.

Sixteen, how long will people be forced to wear them? What is the argument for not wearing them forever? What is the clear, achievable goal?

Seventeen, how many billions of dollars will the people have to pay for this forced experiment?

I honestly don't care 'that' much about mask mandates as much the rest of the pseudoscience taking place, but there are clearly a lot of downsides not even being considered w/o any clear upside.

No, I didn't read your posts, but quite some studies. But the infection risk of Covid isn't increased by masks themselves. The risk to suffer bacterial respiratory infection rises with prolonged use. That's why you should use washable masks or dispose of them after 1 or 2 hours.
