Isiah Thomas ranks the NBA dynasties of the 1980's, putting the Lakers and Celtics as #1 and #2, and goes on to discuss his Pistons and the Bulls. Thomas also touches on not viewing Michael Jordan as his competition: “Head-to-head, I was dominant over Jordan. He just wasn't my competition. My focus was Bird, Magic, Dr. J, Kareem.”
Jordan dominated another era. But if you put him in our era, he lost a lot in our era

Isiah Thomas 2 months ago:
"We’ve had players dominate certain areas, but we’ve never seen a player that truly does it all. And he’s done it, without fail, for 17 years. For now, Kareem is the best that’s ever done it. But by the time he’s done, LeBron James will be the best we have ever seen play the game of basketball.”
So much truth and knowledge here. The man that defeated Jordan without any 1st or 2nd team all-nba talent at that time on the team in 89 and 90 speaking the truth about the GOAT.

Thomas was on absurdly stacked teams and MJ wasn't... that was the only difference. Give Isiah 80s Scottie Pippen, he isn't winning jack shit. While MJ on the pistons would be beyond unbeatable.

Can you imagine Dumars, Rodman, Laimbeer and MJ on one team? Those two in 89 and 90 + 6 more in the 90s easily.
Also, LeShortcut would have signed with them.

To be honest with you guys Jordan did not have a team untill Horace and Pippen evolved from being simple role players to 2 of the best defensive (and in the case of Pippen a multipositional all star player) forwards in the nba. Isiah had Dumars one of the best defensive SGs in the league and also a 20 PPG scorer if needed. He had LAimbeer one of the best defensive rebounders and far range jump shooting centers in the league. He had Dantley the best scoring SF in the league, Aguirre and Vinnie also capable 20 PPG scorers. They they had the best 1 on 1 defender in the league in Rodman (could literaly guard 1s2s3s4s and 5s) whom was also one of the best rebounders. He also had Salley and Mahorn to pretty good defenders, shot blockers and rebounders etc. Isiah's teams where not as talented offensively as the Lakers or Celtics but they where in the level of Phily. But what they do not mention is that they had THE BEST DEFENSIVE TEAM in the league and one of the DEEPEST. I am not a Jordan or Lebron hater and dislike MJ stans from that era but you have to admit that Jordan did not have the level of players to compete with the Lakers, Celtics, early Sixers or Badboys. Fact!

Didn't he admit in one interview with the Splash Bros. that he & Dumars were like high school kids when playing against MJ?
MJ was thrashing this team during '87 & '88 and they had to resort to murdering him on the court just to stop him

True legend of the game and makes me puke inside when I see kids saying Chris Paul is better than him.
That being said he's salty about MJ freezing him out of the Dream Team.

MJ was clearly the best player in those series so who cares if he lost? Same logic that applies to all of Lebron's losses right?
Yall are so bad at trolling, it's just child's play.
Lebron, Wade, Bosh lost to Dirk. How did that happen?

He's so insecure about MJ, he's like the anti-3Ball
And head-to-head in the playoffs, the Pistons were 12-10 against the Bulls. They were better, not "dominant" over them. To say that's not a rivalry is obvious hate.

Michael Jordan vs Isiah Thomas head-to-head stats
Jordan... 31.6.. 6.1.. 5.5.. 1.7.. 0.2.. 2.9 tov.. 44.4 fg.. 1 HOF & 1 all-star teammates
Isiah'...... 21.6.. 3.8.. 9.5.. 2.3.. 0.9.. 4.2 tov.. 47.6 fg.. 3 HOF & 4 all-star teammates
.
Jordan, Pippen and Grant vs Zeke, Rodman,Dumas
Those are fair teams in fact I would give the talent edge to the Bulls but they lost 3-1 to the Bad Boys and only beat them when Zeke was a shell of himself due to injury
So MJ never beat a healthy bad boys

During layup line, Mahorn and Rodman would stand at mid-court and glare at Pippen, until Pippen decided he had a migraine and didn't want to play tonight.
Worked like a charm until 1991.
We will always have Zeke to thank for the "Bird has stolen the ball" moment, i went from crippling anger and depression to incredible joy in the span of about 20 seconds over it.

PLAYOFFS
87' Worthy.... 24 on 57%
88' Worthy.... 22 on 53% (FMVP)
89' Worthy.... 25 on 59%
90' Worthy.... 25 on 53%
Worthy was the "Piston-killer", so imagine if he replaced Pippen from 88-90', where pippen averaged 12 on 42% against the Pistons..
So mj would've obviously 3-peated with worthy - pippen was just the low-producing bum that won the "3-peat with MJ" lottery
