2001-2002 to 2009-2010.
Two different teams... three years in Dallas six in Phoenix with three different coaches and lots of roster turnover. He was the one constant.
Team ORtg:
2002: 112.2 (1st)
2003: 110.7 (1st)
2004: 112.1 (1st)
2005: 114.5 (1st)
2006: 111.5 (2nd)
2007: 113.9 (1st)
2008: 113.3 (2nd)
2009: 113.6 (2nd)
2010: 115.3 (1st)
This is an unprecedented kind of dominance that Nash achieved...

Its worth noting that Nash's prime was in a different era where defense was a far more important aspect of the game. If he were 10 years younger and able to compete in this new era, he might've at least made a few finals trips with that kind of offense.

The craziest thing was he went to a different team midway through yet continued to spearhead GOAT offenses

'04 Mavs - 1st in ORtg, 29th in DRtg
'05 Mavs - 4th in ORtg, 7th in DRtg
'06 Mavs - 1st in ORtg, 11th in DRtg
I think it's more about Dirk in Dallas.

yup... a true skilled basketball maestro.
He would have a ring too if the league didn't screw him out of it. They suspended his own teammates because HE got body checked into a scorer's table.
Think about that....

Top offenses are possible with elite shooters that can play the shooter role

You've hated on Nash for his monopolization.
Little did you consider a) he's a 50/40/90 sniper himself and b) he enhances teammates instead of degrading them for his own benefit.
You owe Steve an apology.

Nash and Curry lead better offense than MJ
Their ability to shoot the 3ball at a high percentage and be great playmakers lead to the greatest offenses

Same reason Reggie was ahead of his time.
Turns out... being able to shoot a basketball really well is really good for your team.

No you educated me on it previously, and now you see that I'm parroting what you told me - nash's elite shooting enables #1 offense capacity, while a straight ball-dominator (no shooter role/ball movement) never could

On the flip side, he helped usher in this new era. If he played today, maybe he stands out less. Lots of teams have learned from his Suns

Okay, so I was exaggerating with my joke of "And a bottom 2 defense" But look at his average Defense during this time period: 19th

The only other player in history to match this kind of dominance is Magic and we know the cast he had. Oscar and Curry did it for about 5 years.
This is why I've believed for a while now that Nash is the 5th best PG ever after Magic/Curry/Oscar/Isiah. He's way more offensively impactful than the likes of Kidd and Payton to ignore and he doesn't have loads of playoff chokes like CP3. And Cousy just couldn't shoot so I can't put him above Nash. The PG #1 job is to run an offense and Nash did that better than just about anyone.

We have both educated each other. Cheers bro. Most people cant see the truth.... whether its basketball, politics or whatever. But you and I have a 6th sense for sniffing out the bullshit. I just don't have the perseverance you do. I'm sick of fighting.

Also would have helped if he wasn't getting f*cked over by proven corrupt refs. Oh and bitch ass Robert Horry slamming him into the announcers table, somehow causing Amare and Diaw to get suspended because of it for naturally reacting to someone straight up purposely TRYING TO INJURE their leader and good friend. And the whole league agreed that it was a complete crock of BS and immediately changed the rules in the offseason, but of course we were the ones who had to get f*cked in the asses for that to happen. More than likely f*cked Nash and the Suns out of what would have been their only ring....
It's still frustrating looking back on it that they actually decided to enforce that dumb ass rule in the middle of a series that the vast majority of the league was calling "the real NBA finals", knowing that it was 100% provoked by Horry and Amare and Diaw were vastly more important players than Horry ever was. Lets be real if a Suns bench player had done that to Tony Parker or something and Duncan and Ginobili came off the bench, they wouldn't have gotten suspended. Shit was one of the biggest shams in NBA playoffs history.

I agree. The Amare and Diaw suspensions are one of the harshest things the league has ever done. Guys were fighting during games and wouldn't get suspended at times. They left the bench perhaps with an intention to do something but never even got close and were restrained and they get suspended for a pivotal game. I know rules and rules but following rules blindly is stupid. I remember thinking "WTF"... If the Suns did beat the Spurs (it was still a 50-50 series) they would have definitely beat Utah and Cleveland and won the title.
