I personally don't see why the Suns would want to trade for Chris Paul at this point in his career, not to mention CP3's huge contract, but it's been discussed:

If I'm any team with a young guard that I see as a franchise player, I'd love to have CP3. He's the epitome of basketball IQ and professionalism. SGA and Schroeder benefited so much from playing with this guy for a year.

For the Suns specifically, he fills their biggest weakness. They have a whole stable of young wings that will benefit from CP3's floor generalship. Ayton will be the best center he's ever played with too. He can roll like Deandre Jordan, but also pop...very hard to defend if you have a guard that can consistently execute.

I guess the issue is the Suns were a young team for the future, and CP3 should give them a temporary boost, but ideally they'd have landed another young guard to keep growing alongside Booker. HOWEVER, to shoot my own point down, maybe the slow growth process can't be trusted in this case, because you never know who a team may lose in expensive free agency. Dunno. This is sort of an extreme case.

Chris Paul was vital to this team for sure. The question is though if he will be able to continue to guide this team or if age will catch up to him
