They are a top 4 team in the western conference after Lakers, Clippers and Nuggets, won’t be surprised if they make it to the 2nd round.

I wonder how many times “untradeable” contracts will be moved before people realize they don’t exist. 35-40 million is a handful of role players in 2020. Whoever you think has an untouchable contract....doesn’t.

John Wall has a strong start to the year he can get traded too. Feel free to argue...then watch.

In a world role players make 15-18 million all deals are workable.

They even found a taker for the shitshow better known as Ricky Rubio!

What about the Mavs and especially the Warriors? Anything can happen in the West, that's for sure. LeBron did a good job getting the ring this year, it will be extremely difficult to get a chip in the following seasons, lots of teams are upgrading their roster.

Great trade for both teams really. Some young bloods for the Thunder and another pick which they always love. Suns move to win-now mode. Unfortunately for them, they still need one more piece to have a decent chance. IMO they should really look at someone that could probably be gotten for cheap like Drummond

Are the Thunder going to be able to move Rubio now?

The Mavs will be missing Porzingis for first half of the season, his injury-prone attribute is seriously hurting the Mavericks' chance of further improvement. The Warriors are at most a 45 wins team, 7th seed at best. They were the last place in the West last season, for a very good reason.

he's get cleared 1/1 which is less than 2 weeks after the season starts. he'll play a lot more than half the year

He’s a 27 million dollar expiring contract. He might get traded for someone who matters somehow. Someone furious to go to the Hornets but...still.

Booker is really good but him and Ayton still to young, not worried about them but if they make another solid move, hmmmm.

I don't understand.

I thought Phoenix connected well in the playoffs - why risk team chemistry and send the wrong message?

Plus, I also think Chris Paul is overrated - not a playoff winner but leaving that aside, I would be disappointed if I was Phoenix and looking to improve upon quality momentum from a good end to the season only months ago.

What am I missing?

in the backend, it's a move to please Booker and avoid having him want to leave.

No way Suns get out of the 2nd round. People should pump the breaks on 35 year old CP3.

Which looks better and shakes people boots.

Lebron/AD/CP3 or Ayton/Booker/CP3

Kawhi/George/CP3 or Ayton/Booker/CP3

If Ayton and Booker had more experience and battle tested then its different but there just too young, no playoff experience. So adding a 35yr old CP3 arent just going to make them title contenders. But if they can make a couple more moves, bring in some legit skilled veterans then watch out. I dont see how, get rid of Bridges? You already trade away Oubre for CP3. Get rid of all your young assets for experience veterans and it doesnt work out, Bookers signing somewhere else once his contract is over or possibly demand a trade.

suns have cap space if they make this trade after signing someone, think it's like 18mil.

ya'll don't understand the significance bc you don't watch suns games.

booker and ayton have been needing a good pg for a minute, even when book averaged 6.8 assists per game during the point-book expirement, it was clear he's a better offball player and the team needed a true facilitator. rubio is a pure pg that elevated the team but had a huge flaw: his shooting. so while he helped booker and ayton, he was still not good enough because the lack of spacing. no defense respects rubio.

cp3 will change that, he'll be the leader that will unlock potential of ayton and booker...that's the bottom line. he's like the 6th infinity stone on thano's gaunlet.

So OKC traded Russell Westbrook, who is net neutral player at best at this age and have a terrible contract for 5 first round picks and some assets? What a legends.

the picks are nice, but i wouldn't consider jalen lacque and ty jerome assets. personally not big on oubre eithier, he's a net negative player. for eevry 1 amazing game he has, there's 3-4 terrible games that follow that. he's a fan favorite though, so you have that at least. the suns didn't give up much on their end, fair trade considering.

I feel like if you include Oubre or Rubio in the trade deal, it sweetens it. Which makes them assets.

yes and no. it just depends on your end goal. they don't elevate you to a playoff team by themselves unless you have a top 10 nba player on your squad, in which case you should ask yourself why tf you're not in the playoffs already.

they are fools gold and mediocre players. i like rubio a lot too, think he's a great guy, just couldn't figure out how to shoot.

You maybe right, both Rubio and Oubre are specialists and not a huge impact guys, but that's not the point.
They both solid NBA players, especially Rubio, with role-player contracts, and they are assets on the floor for at least 20-23 teams and off the floor in the trade market.
Now go and tell Houston to trade RW for 5 protected first round picks and couple of solid role players. His market value is nonexistent.
