Your dude at #5 is a bad three point shooter.

He holds the record for the worst shooting performance in the NBA's shooting contest.

I would genuinely want to know. The guys with volume, save for Korver, get all the press.

But Craig Hodges could legitimately be a top 5 pure shooter in NBA history. Just didn’t have the talent to create looks for himself like Miller or Bird.

Steve Kerr, Jeff Hornacek, Byron Scott, Steve Nash.

Steve Kerr could be the greatest shooter ever and just didn’t have the twitch muscles to show it clearly like Steph.

Make no mistake, Steph has definitely done the best shooting in NBA history.

But if wide open, same result.

Curry has to be the unanimous #1 because of his ability to shoot off the dribble, as well as the spot up, off-screen, and just pure range. Dude changed the way the league is played.

I don't know if I could put these guys in order, but some of the top names that come to mind:

Ray Allen (in his later career)
Klay
Nash
Peja
Kerr
Korver
Reddick

Reggie was/is an icon, but shot less than 40% for his career from deep, so that's why he's off my list.

I just assumed this was three point shooters...

TREMENDOUS LIST! I go for guys who are very good to great scorers. AND from there are 50-40-90 guys. OR are capable of hitting that mark. All the guys u named fit that criteria. If you don't do it like that, there's TOO MUCH gray area. Bird was really the FIRST GUY to put that formula on the map. Hell I think most of the guys you listed won a three point shootout at some point in their careers! But I can't put guys like Kerr or Hodges on my list.

Steve Nash - the 50/40/90 guy
Larry Bird - need winning basket, he’s the guy.
Steph Curry - rangiest player in the history
Dirk Nowitzki - best shooting big
Ray Allen - best shooting form
Klay Thompson - streakiest shooter I’ve seen

how could I forget Kevin Garnett - the man could pull the defender out to the wing and hit the mid-range fadeaway

tbh Dirk's not much better than Ewing - Pat's jump shot was wet.

I disagree; I think it's Bird's.

Really? Birds aesthetically looks completely broken compared to other shooters. But it really comes down to preference. For me, it would be either Ray or Klay.

I think Ray's shot is much easier to block than Bird's, and this is due to where Bird released the shot in his form (far above his head), and not just due to height. Ray has a much quicker release than Bird, though. In fact, Bird's is practically a wind-up, one of the slowest shooting forms if not one of the most effective.
