Without a doubt. A modern-day version of pippen, albeit more offensive-oriented.

He can be a hall of famer like one of those random guys who were on Bill Russell's team in the 1950s. A legit hall of famer I don't think so.

If he isn’t then the warriors were never a super team.

If you mean 3rd option sure, but Dray was honestly probably better than Klay during some of those title runs

There’s actually a decent chance he does not get in. Basketball-reference has him at 51% right now. Dennis Johnson won 3 titles and 1 FMVP and didn’t make it till 20 years after his retirement. Mark Aguirre has similar career stats as Klay and won 2 titles and he’s not in. Also, while he wasn’t necessarily bad in the finals, except for 2019, he usually took a step back. So there’s a decent chance he doesn’t get in.

This is a great example of why just blindly using HOF status as a strength indicator for a team or competition without any context is ridiculous. Him making the HOF or not largely due to how the rest of his career plays has nothing to do with how good he was from 2015-2019 during those Finals runs.

He will be in the hall because he got carried by Steph Curry. It’s gonna be the modern day equivalent of those random Celtic guys who are in the hall because they played with Bill Russell.

Sure steph helped klays career but you coukd say that about almost anyone. Saying steph carried klay is like saying mj carried pip. Sure mj and steph are obviously the better players but both needed their second guy just as much as their second guy needed them. Plus klay proved his worth many times in tbe post season where he either outplayed steph on both ends or performed and won games without steph like in 16. Klay is lock for hof.

yup... he's not a HOF talent, but he played for the winning teams. His numbers and metrics even in the winning runs are very mediocre. Dray was more important.

Exactly!!!!

This is why I made the thread. Guys like Kemp, Hardaway, and Hill played at a very high level during the Bulls runs. And were much more highly regarded than Klay when he went down.

Truth be told. I don't think Draymond Green is a Hofer.

When it's all said and done, the Warriors as it stands, only have two locks for the Hall of Fame.

So what do you think about 30+ PPG Curry leading a team of no HOFers to 73 wins and a title?

That would be great if he did that.

I'm not trying to knock the Warriors. They obviously are one of the greatest teams the NBA has ever seen. I'm putting contact some of the arguments I constantly hear.

He did do it. Title in 2015. 73 wins in 2016.

And in the process, the warriors just became the very first team to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals as well. Never forget history. :yaohappy:
