Ever listen to clapton's unplugged? Pretty amazing.

have you listened to the greenhornes before? Rage does not suck. Best political band of all time b/c they actually walked the walk and talked the talk unlike thom yorke of radiohead even though i like the music.

michael jackson is a great artist. You might say he is crap b/c you dont like him but you have to respect his talent.

Just ok? I f*cking love The Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl is a legend. Colour And The Shape is one of my favorite CD's ever and Everlong is one of the most beautiful rock songs I've ever heard. Wow, I'm surprised you don't like them.

And if you think A7X has lame vocals listen to Waking the Fallen, some of the vocals on that album give me goosebumps. I can understand City of Evil though, I just listen to it to learn the guitar riffs.

I don't really hate a lot of things in life because either I don't care enough or I can see the good in almost everything. However, Simple Plan and Billy Joel are exceptions to my life's rule. They are by far the worst ****ing band/singer I've ever heard. Seriously, listen to some of their songs.

I didn't study for my test what am I going to do
I crashed my dad's car

Seriously that's what a lot of their songs are about. They have to be in their 20's by now and you would think these issues can't really concern them anymore, yet they keep making songs like these. I guess it's like those Rappers once they get rich they keep rapping about the game and drug dealing, yet their ass doesn't do that shyt anymore. (I'm referring to simple plan right here)

And this is coming from someone that isn't afraid to say they like some of the modern pop. Timberlake is pretty good, the umbrella song is catchy as hell, and that Sweet Escape song ain't half bad. Yet, something about Simple Plan and Billy Joel makes me want to rip their throats out for the sake of humanity.

I thought the band got along great and if they were to break up it was because of Kurt's extreme stomach pains and his hate of his new found fame. I can't really say for sure though, I could've sworn that's what I have read though.

Deftones, word. My all time favourite band.

As for the Butterfly Effect, i was going to list them but didnt think anyone in the US would know who they were. Clearly i was mistaken.

Ive seen Deftones and the Butterfly Effect live Btw, you seen either?
I've never seen the Deftones. They don't normally come to where I live (Alot of bands I like don't come here). Never seen The Butterfly Effect either. Don't know why, they've played enough shows here, I just always had something else on when they were here.

RAP:
Atmosphere
Brother Ali

Jurassic 5
Nas
Snoop Dogg

ROCK:
Deftones
Rage Against the Machine
Tool
A Perfect Circle

I'd post up a list of artists, but I guarantee most of the ISH crowd hasn't heard of the majority of them, and it would go on forever, so I'll just post up the genres I'm into. I've been into to music since I was little, grew up around many different kinds of music, was in the jazz band, and later a Drum & Bass dj after my "rave years" in highschool.

Drum 'n' Bass / Jungle
Jazz
Hip-hop
Trip-Hop
Downtempo
Dub
Dubstep
Funk
Breaks
House
Trance
Techno (the actual genre, not "techno" as most would call all EDM music)
IDM / Glitch
Industrial
Rock/Alternative/Metal/Death Metal/Punk
Dirty South sh!t (ie. 3-6, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Tommy Wright, etc)
Reggae
Classical
Pop (ie. lots of crap from the radio - consider a guilty pleasure)
80's music
"Golden Oldies"

and more

I listen to alot of stuff, especially compared to most of y'all.

That's my whole point. That is only the tip of the iceberg of all the music I listen to. I listen to so much music without lyrics, that I could on and on with some of my favorite artists. Too many to name, you know?

But since you asked. I'm into bands like (from the metal/death metal angle) Pantera, Metallica, Sepultura, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Slayer, Soulfly, Mortician, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, White Zombie, Type O Negative, Skinless, Dying Fetus, Coal Chamber, Korn, Mercyful Fate, Fear Factory, Obituary, Emporer, Ministry... and so on. Admittedly, I don't jam this stuff as much as I did when I was younger, though it's still a part of my roots. Pantera will forever be my favorite.

Some other, more alternative/grunge stuff, would be alot of the bands already mentioned a bunch. Like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Filter, Beck, Sonic Youth, Green Day, Alice In Chains, Violent Femmes, Weezer, Dinosaur Jr, Soundgarden, Butthole Surfers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Garbage... and so on.

You like the old stuff I see. I'm into the top 6 bands that you named, and Canibal Corpse, but after that, I've only heard of them, but haven't taken the time to listen, so I can't really judge. I know a couple of Fear Factory songs, and Merciful Fate, but yeah, as I said, haven't listened to to much of them.

As for the Grunge/Alternative, all the bands there are good, except for Greenday. If you mean the older Greenday, then yeah, they were good. But the new mainstream stuff sucks really quite badly. Also, Garbage, I never got into them, they just didn't appeal to me.

Good collection though.

I don't live and breathe some of these bands, don't get me wrong. Some were huge favorites to me, some still are, some I no longer keep up with as much, some I could probably educate myself even more about, some fizzled out or broke uo, etc... I liked Garbage alot in 90s, still do enjoy their older music. Their selftitled and 2.0 albums were sweet. Little bit grungy, lit bit pop-ish, emotional music I suppose. Never knew it until a few years ago, but Shirley Manson is actually a huge Spurs fan. No problem with her joining the club :oldlol:

Thrice is lame? Teppei is one of the best guitarists in the alt rock scene. Although I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Vheissu.

Brand New is a great alt rock (I guess you can call them that... or emo or indie or whatever they change alot) band. Their lyrics and style are amazing. They're even better live, they play (and Jesse Lacey sings and plays) with a crazy intensity.

My music taste has changed over the last 10 or so years greatly. I probably went from general rock, to alternative, to rap, to hip-hop, and lately I've been downloading a lot of classical rock and original rock. Here's what I listen to generally most of the time, no specific order...

U2 (Sunday Bloody Sunday (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd1mKaxN6EY), Elevation, Where The Streets Have No Name, etc)
The Who (Baba O'Riley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2KRpRMSu4g), Who Are You, Happy Jack, etc)
Nas (Hero, Dance, You're Da Man, Bridging The Gap (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05pA5U-W32c), Who Killed It?, etc)
The Verve (Bitter Sweet Symphony, Love Is Noise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmRJo8RQ5sA))
M.I.A. (Paper Planes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sei-eEjy4g), Come Around)
Kasabian (Clubfoot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC-Mp105WJ4) (great song), Processed Beats)
Coldplay (Lost! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYDOWGlPDTU), Yellow, Strawberry Swing, etc)
Bruce Springsteen (Born In The USA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPudiBR15mk), Streets Of Philadelphia, etc)
Kanye West (The Glory (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_x3pJkckRQ), Hey Mama, Gone, etc)
Muse (Map Of The Problematique (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtmV5qiNRvY), Time Is Running Out, Bliss, etc)
The Killers (All These Things That I've Done (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6ERe23kSBM))
Chuck Berry (No Particular Place To Go (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIc2vZ2ZZ5A), Johnny B. Goode, etc)

Again...this is what I've been listening too lately on my laptop. Even then this is just a small sample. I try to keep my taste and genres open. I even like classical. Country probably is my least liked.

You probably won't know many of my bands, good luck rating.

Mana
Juanes
Rojo
Camila
Conjunto Primavera
Intocable
Los Bukis
Paquito De Rivera

I know all of the these bands, could go into further detail if necessary. The only one I don't listen to religiously is 'Camila'. Mana is my favorite. Many hardcore Mana fans think Mana has declined, I think otherwise. Manda una senal, Labios compartidos, mariposa traicionera, and Bendita tu luz are some of my many favorites.

Juanes is alright, not a big fan of him. 'Me enamora' and 'gotas de agua dulce' are a few songs I have on my ipod.

Rojo? You Christian brah? That's the only 'Rojo' band I've heard of. They have OK songs, nothing special. Anette Moreno used to be with them but she got out I think. Good because she's annoying anyway. They're better off without her. About 4 months ago my brother told me about a concert Rojo was having here in Houston. It was part of their farewell tour so I guess they don't play anymore? Couple songs I like 'una generacion apasionada', and 'siguiendote los pasos'. Their music is for teens, they can do better.

Conjunto Primavera, they're trash bro. I hate that 'Norteno' type of music that comes with alto saxophone. That style in particular derives from Chihuahua I think. Los Rieleros have that 'chihuaheno' thing going for them though. 'Dime quien es' is catchy as shit. But if you're going to listen to old skool norteno music might as well listen to the original. The Norteno from the Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas area is where is at.

Ramon y Sus Bravos (the big dog when it comes to regional music), and Cachorros play Tamaulipas type of norteno music. Most of the other famous bands play Nueveo Leon style. Invasores de Nuevo Leon, Herederos, Cadetes, La Leyenda, Lalo Mora, Isaias Lucero, Los Cardenales ...all these guys are definitely old skool Monterrey sound.

Every genre changes and so has this one. Now you have bands like Intocable, Duelo, and Pesado who have added pop onto their music. That's new skool otherwise known as 'Grupero' or 'Norteno light'. The three bands I just mentioned are the big dogs now. Then you have a bunch of 2nd tier bands like Estruendo, Masizzo, Solido, Costumbre, Intenso, Palomo, Noe Salinas y Novedad, Iman, Siggno (I guess they're not 2nd tier but whatever), etc etc. Some of these bands try too hard to sound like Duelo or Intocable.

They really need to come up with their own style. The 'slow romantic cumbia' got old quick. And Intocable has gotten a little too main stream for my taste. I feel like they're purposely making these catchy hooky songs because it appeals to the masses. Songs like Suena, Aire, and 'todo para que?' made them. Now they release songs like 'Arrepiente' and 'Llueve'. :facepalm Musically they have regressed. Their bass player is amazing though. As a musician I really appreciate what these guys can do. Mario Padilla for cachorros is an amazing drummer.

You have bands who've literally added Jazz and funk to the norteno. Check out bands like 'La Firma' and 'El Plan'. You'll probably like them. Anyway, this new norteno genre is OK I guess. And yes I HATE Tejano. I absolutely hate it.

Los Bukis....Meh, never got into their music. I've definitely heard of them though. Paquita la del barrio....f*ck that fat slob pos. Her music is shitty. She just takes feminism to a another level. I hate her. I lol'd when the media went after her for saying gays shouldn't be allowed to raise kids. :oldlol:

Talkin' Bout Spanish Musica

Nortenos and banda music are good only for dancing with muchachas. Hispanic women love to dance because it gives them the excuse to get touchy and physical, almost like foreplay. Besides that though, the music itself is crap to listen to. Its simplistic and lacks all substance.

Mana is the shit, even though a lot of their newer stuff turned heavy rock pop. Some missing would be Cafe Tacuba, Julieta Venegas (at least when Im the mood to stomach spanish pop), Velorio and Jaguares. All the spanish stuff is limited though because they become redundant and always steer towards pop rock to gain mainstream acceptance. Like Shakira when she was young.. (Pies Descalzos, D
