Gasol for vet Min is no brainer playing limited minutes matchup dependent ( jokic etc) but can still knock down shots and rebound and is high IQ player.
He can play McGhee Role start games but then play maybe 10-15 min a gm basically.

He won't be given heavy minutes. But around 20 minutes of him guarding Jokic or Embiid in a series would be helpful, even at his age.

I will say if you watched the playoffs at all, Marc Gasol is completely done. He’ll be a good veteran presence in the locker room though I guess and he can still be useful against Jokic and Embiid.

he was starting tho, next season with lakers he will come off bench or have limited minutes? he started with toronto and played 26.4 mpg, with lakers will be different.
plus yes he is good for jokic, boban/zubac and then embiid

never seen a gm be so aggressive after winning a title. gasol does look kind of done but he's there to play matchups trezz cant and ones you dont want ad playing center, mainly jokic. I think clippers can get markieff now and go with some smaller lineup. he helps their forward depth while zubac and ibaka hold down center.

The hoax will fall short because lebron won't get 6 as the best player
It will be really hard to scam him a 6th fmvp
Regardless, lebron is just an all-nba player.... That's a lower level than Jordan because Jordan's all-nba came with all-defense (top 5 dpoy) and scoring title... Whereas lebron hasn't been all-defense in 7 years and ranks 15th in scoring

What will help propel Lebron over Jordan all-time in the future is statistical domination and unrivalled longevity. As it's going to be very hard to make a case for Jordan over Lebron if Lebron has 6 rings and 5 finals MVPs along with the all-time scoring title and plus 40 k points,10k assists and finally 10k rebounds to his name by the time his career is over.

Let's wait and see just how completely done he is. Covid shutdown was different for everyone and Marc might not have been the best at staying in game shape at his age. He could have gone home to Barcelona and played, but he must think he have something left to contribute for a contending team.
But definitely a good veteran presence, that can't be denied.
Awesome signing, hopefully Morris re-signing is next.

It's also worth noting that he probably had his best 3pt shooting season last season, this late in his career - a solid .385 on 3.4 attempts per game. That is a good sign for LeBron ball.

These people think LA signed Gasol to actually play lol. He is there mainly for the playoffs vs Embiid/Jokic. Last season Gasol did a great job vs Embiid. Not only that he brings IQ/passing/floor spacing, these are just the extra. Not expecting him to play more then 20+ during the regular season.
People dont understand the regular season is chess then playoffs is chest. Just like when free agency started, GMs playing checkers while Pelinka showing mastery in chest lol.

People sleeping on him a little bit.
He'll look great playing with LeBron and AD. Closer to his 2019 championship year, when he had Kawhi to play off of.
He'll probably only average 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3-4 assists, but he'll shoot 40% from 3.. His impact will be felt -- on both ends of the court.

I wouldn't be surprised about that either. LeHaters about to have another meltdown this year.
Marc Gasol gave Embiid some problem in 2019, he plays physical defense, he sets screens and he can shoot from anywhere.
Even in 2020 he was shooting close to 40% from 3 during the regular season. There is a good chance that his performance in the bubble was a fluke

I don't think anyone is sleeping on him. His addition solidified their roster. They needed someone to take Dwight's place and they couldn't have found anyone better.
He will be even more helpful than Dwight because he's also a threat from the perimeter to go along with his stout defense.

Laker's don't need him at all for his lack of offense at this point.
They mainly got him because he is a center that plays good D.
That frees up AD from HAVING to play C. That's the key benefit here.
