Going on year 18. You know, they say that in the playoffs he ran the LEAST. That means no hustle. He had some great chase down blocks, but if he's running the least, that means he's conserving his energies and picking his spots. But he's only able to pick his spots because he's been walking up and down the court all year. Jordan brought it on defense every night. Playing point guard isn't draining for Lebron as all he's doing is distributing.

If Lebron brought it 100 percent on defense, his numbers would go down. He's about his numbers. So you can make the case that it's Lebron being carried by his stacked teams. When you have Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard and Javale Mcgee as your centers, you have solid support. Plus solid back up guards like Rajon Rondo and shooting specialists such as JR Smith and Danny Green. Also, Caldwell Pope. And the refs, letting him shoulder people out of the way.

So when Lebron says he's activating his playoff mode, that's because he didn't go 100 percent in the regular season and do the things that don't look so sexy on the stats paper. So he has extra life in him, because he was being carried by the whole team that did all the work. He just picked his spots and focused on what shows up in the stats and he'll play defense occasionally for the highlights and to get credit.

Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love and now A.D. have all carried him. LeShortcut doesn't like competing.

This is peak stupidity.

He's carried by teams that make the finals in the "weak east", yet mysteriously fail to make the playoffs in the same "weak east" the season after he leaves those teams in 2011, 2015 and 2019?

LeBron has more points, steals, rebounds, assists, blocks wins, playoff series wins, game winners than any player in NBA history. He is known as LeThanos for a reason. He is not only leading his teammates, he leads every player, ever in all stats.

I think he's been doing the carrying for some time now. LeThanos

Both LeBron and Anthony Davis were top 2 in distance covered per game and bottom 2 in average speed. The bottom 2 in average speed does not mean "no hustle." It means that the team revolves around them - literally.

That is to say that LeBron, as PG, usually has the ball at the top or in the post and his shooters and cutters are running around him trying to get open.

That is why Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso led the team in average speed per game - they were always running around trying to get open.

Makes sense, right?

For AD's part, he's usually in the post with his teammates moving around trying to make space for him to operate (or to get open).

It does not mean LeBron and AD do not hustle.

For what it's worth, LeBron has been last on his teams in average speed every year that this data has been collected (since 2014). It's because he's the sun of the offense and his teammates orbit around him.

PLAYOFF PPG

1988 McHale.... 25.4
1988 Bird.......... 24.5

2011 Wade...... 24.5
2011 Lebron.... 23.7

2020 Davis.'..... 27.8
2020 Lebron.... 27.7

2016 Kyrie.'...... 25.8
2016 Lebron.... 26.2

1987 Worthy.... 23.6
1987 Magic...'.. 21.1

^^^ Lebron, Magic and everyone in history are "pippens" because they needed a "jordan" (someone that could outscore them).. Jordan is the only guy that just needed a pippen - someone that averaged 10-30 less in every series (with less career apg).. Jordan infact popularized the idea of "carry-jobs" when he first came on the scene - it was his claim to fame and what differentiated him from bird/magic/isiah (who had equal-scoring teammates).

And equal-scoring teammates attract equal defensive attention, so only Jordan faced "1-man team" coverage for his entire career (thus giving ultimate integrity to his #1 ranked PPG, PER, BPM, WS/48, and also VORP seasons).

Kenny Smith talks about mj being the only 1-man show here:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4UF6Xx3F2Lo&t=01m54s

Finally, Lebron was a 1-trick pony before the "decision", with only 1 Finals run like Iverson, Dwight, and Kidd... Then Wade, AD, and Kyrie elevated him to champion - so this idea that lebron brings guys titles and therefore "makes guys better" is false - teaming up doesn't equal "making guys better" - it's just stacking the deck and talent-based winning.... virtually none of his primary teammates improved statistically alongside him because his skillset imposes spot-up roles that stall young players, thereby needing ready-made stars to win (talent-based winning aka team-hopping)....

Op says bran got carried into the playoffs and finals, yet overlooked the fact that he used to carry a bunch of scrubs to the finals as well.

The better question is, what about your main hero curry, who used a fake injury as an excuse to withdraw from playing after klay got sidelined since the conclusion of the 2019 finals?
