I haven't voted yet, but just wanted to add that no votes for KJ is a travesty.

Dude was a 5x All-NBA and averaged 21/11 over a 4 season peak, in a team that was winning 55 games per season.

I mean, I'm just saying that sounds like a downgraded Damian Lillard...

Lillard over a 4 season peak is averaging 26/7 and has the 5x all NBA and 5x All stars. He also has iconic game winners and post season moments. If you gave Lillard Barkley instead of Aldridge or McCollum....I can't help but think that leads to a chip.

I think guys like Dame, KJ, Timmy Hardaway are interchangeable.

I can't still get over the fact that Cousy is ranked 11th.
A guy who is 4th in All NBA 1st Team (only behind to Kobe, LeBron & Malone). Among all PG listed in the top-10, he is the only player who could "arguably" match (or exceed) Magic's FMVP if the award was existing during his time. And I could still go on with All-Stars, AS-MVP, etc. Anyway...

16. D. Johnson
17. L. Wilkens
18. D. Lillard
19. T. Hardaway

They look at Cousy era more than they do the other top guys from the 60s usually ranked high like Russ, Wilt, Oscar and West. I've noticed even Elgin and Pettit have receded in recent years.

Good to see Thomas>Paul. Damn, this forum has hope after all :confusedshrug:

If I had a vote here;

Dame
KJ
DJ
T. Hardaway
Penny

Rose has an MVP over all these guys, but I think the players listed had better/consistent impact. DJ has more championships than the others although I value peak/prime play a bit more than I do hardware.

Thoughts on Dave Bing, Gus Williams?

Dave Bing was very talented guy always playing on bad teams with Bob Lanier. Became the mayor of Detroit as some point IIRC. I don't think he gets a nod over any of the guys here who won more than he did. I've become more and more unimpressed over time with great stats on bad teams.

Gus literally had one ridiculously good year in 1979 then never came within a mile of that ever again and was also kind of a headcase. He had a big role in the Sonics not continuing as a dynasty and broke that team apart. I considered him.

It becomes really subjective past the first few guys though. I could have put KJ there or Mr. Crossover or even Lillard... I'm not gonna pretend that my list is better than others here...

Penny should be a SG. He was a really good passer but not a traditional PG.

True, but he needs to hurry. He's already 30 years old.

wow, so many options

I'm surprised ya'll have passed on Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway to this point, considering what a good ball distributor they were, and that despite this, getting them the ball would be key

btw where did you list LeBron?

Penny Hardaway
Dave Bing
Damian Lillard
Tim Hardaway
Kyrie Irving

I've always thought that Lenny Wilkens was among the least deserving members of the NBA's 50th Anniversary Team.
