No. You should take Stephen Curry all the time.

What type of question is this? I can name you a half a dozen players off the top of my head: Larry Bird, Dr. J, T-Mac, LeBron, KD, Scottie Pippen.

What's ironic is a small forward was taken over Curry for FMVP 5 years in a row

Healthy kawhi is 8-4 against curry in playoffs. Was blowing him out by 20 points in 2017 as well until you injured him.

Anyway theres a reason why Curry went 0/5 on FMVPs, he hardly even got any vote.

OP is a dumbass but stop.
Lebron, Bird, and KD sure. Maybe Dr J but you’d have to consider eras and crap. But Pippen and TMac, hell no.

On the contrary, this thread shows the pervasive small forward bias.
You'd rather take KD? You'd rather take Iguodala? Like the FMVP voters did?
I'll be laughing at the justifications.
My first comment stands.

There's not a pervasive bias. Curry played with a small forward that was simply a better player.

You guys can keep clinging to this thinking even when they accomplished nothing without Curry.

Bron? 3-1 and couldn't dominate with either Wade or Davis the way Curry did with KD.
Bird is roughly Magic and Steph>Magic.

Nobody gonna take you serious with shit like this. Bron, magic and bird are better than steph. Theres not a gm owner or coach in the history of the game that would take steph over any of those guys.

I'm sure that's what they would have said at the time of the draft too and they'd have missed out on the greatest player of a franchise. I guess the inferior player could claim to be the greatest franchise player on the Cavs but let's face it Warriors>Cavaliers. Lacob has made more money with Steph than what those other GMs and coaches would have gotten picking those other players.

Nah man steph is nice i'll give you that but theres no argument for steph over bird, magic or bron. He's more in the convo with kawhi and kd

Curry sticks with the same team like Bird and Magic but made the finals 5 straight times like LeBron but in the tougher conference. Bird is the only real comparison among these three but Bird doesn't have the records.
Since 2012, small forwards from different championship teams have been given the fmvp award, unlike the star player that the op stans.

And each of those players led teams against Curry in the playoffs. Their record? 1-3, 0-1, 0-1. Do you take the results of playoffs series or the opinions of 11 opinion writers? It seems you take the latter. Poor lemming.

What are you talking about? Kawhi is 18-11 vs. curry in h2h matchups, including being 8-5 in the playoffs. You don't seem to make any sense at all. :confusedshrug:

If you want to take Kawhi, go for it! Although he seems to have other issues that reduce his stock.

I'm not sure why you're having some insecurities here just because other people prefer or stan players other than your favorite.

The fact they all have 2+ FMVP's while Curry's barely gotten a vote probably plays into it

Why would I care about FMVPs which have proven themselves a joke? Curry is a case where despite the establishment being against him he succeeds. It gives him a decisive leg up on players who succeeded because they were given a leg up all the way through by the institutional actors.

Ask a fan of a small market team if certain large market teams have an advantage. Ask if Kareem was denied an FMVP because Magic instead winning would make the network broadcaster happier. Ask why the inferior player who lost a game gets the headline instead of the team that won the game.

The same establishment that awarded him the first unanimous MVP in history?

Winning the MVP unanimously was simply a natural consequence of the season he put up. The MVP voters could hardly do otherwise without looking foolish. That's not the establishment choosing to give it to him. It was the establishment being forced to give it to him.
