Something doesn't add up. Anybody that tall draws tons of stares anytime he's out in public. If he's walking with a distinct limp as well? You'd think anybody who saw him would say "Hey, could that be...?"

So my theory is that he doesn't really walk with a limp. Before he robs a bank he sticks something in his shoe that forces him to limp. Once he's made his getaway he changes shoes and then he's walking normally again. And since he's not limping people assume that he can't be the robber. It's a trick that's been used before. A robber wears thick glasses during a job even though he has perfect vision, or has a large bandage taped to his arm as if he's covering up a scar or a tattoo, but there's nothing underneath it. It's all just an attempt to mislead witnesses.
