Interesting, though he could've signed 2 + 1 contract and wait to see how the Lakers would do with old Lebron in 2022. I am skeptical that Lebron can keep up his current form 2 years from now, and the new contract he signs quickly becomes one of the worst in NBA history, comparable to Kobe from 2014-2016.

That's the price you pay for rings.

Great teams have great stretches followed by horrible stretches. Just the way the game cycles.

When you're winning you dump future assets (picks) to better current odds. Davis and Lebron atleast the next two years are going to be a great combo. Davis the following three years will still be amazing. AD in five years is still only 32 years old and his skillset isnt that of a traditional big.

Lebron has EARNED whatever he gets and any contract after next 2 years will prob be on 1-2 yr basis but Lebron has taken pay cuts many times throughout early career he deserves twice the amount of any other max player for everything he brings and has brought to table.

Yup, lebron is by far the most underpaid athlete in the history of sports

This has been the pundit narrative for 5 seasons now. Remember, Lebron came to LA to retire and doesn't care about rings anymore.

LeBron doing a 2+1 is opening the possibility he will play with Bronny if the Lakers don't get him:banana:

I don't know the ins and outs, but weren't most people thinking he would sign a 1 year deal this year, then do supermax next year ?
