Warner Brothers announced today that their movies in 2021 will be released on HBO Max streaming AND in movie theaters at the same time.
I didn't see if HBO Max subscribers have to pay extra for the movies or not. I would assume so? But it wasn't clear from two articles I skim-read.
I only wonder this because Amazon Prime video has a ton of movies but then select ones Prime members have to pay extra for. Wonder if HBO Max will do the same thing or not.
This includes the new Space Jam movie, the next Wonder Woman movie (Wonder Woman 1984), and The Matrix 4.

I just skim-read like five articles and none of them made it clear if HBO Max subscribers automatically get to see these movies with the normal plan, or if HBO Max subscribers are just the only people with the option to pay extra to stream the movies just as they were going to hit theatres.
If it's the former, that's a pretty damn good deal, assuming some of the movies are huge blockbusters that we'd all want to anxiously see....

Just found out: NO EXTRA CHARGE.
HBO Max will include the 2021 Warner Brother movies for subscribers with no additional fee for the movies.
This is going to put pressure on Disney+ and other streaming services to do the same... maybe.

Thank God, tbh.
If theres one thing we all need, it’s more formula driven mediocre Hollywood garbage to stare at for 5 hours a night. Theres just nothing else in this world worth our time like that.
Hopefully I can fit these rapid fire movie releases in between the 8 Netfix shows I watch each day.

JUST.
CANT.
GET.
ENOUGH.

Warner Brothers hasn't had much good since The Matrix. I wouldn't watch this shit if you paid me to.

Hats off to WarnerMedia for doing this, even though I know they did it for their shareholders and not for us consumers . Hollywood and its cronies are melting down hard. **** 'em.

This is shaking up the industry a bit. Streaming services may have to match this and have more new movies live as they premiere. Also, lots of actors producers etc. seem mad about this because they'll possibly make way less money. Though they should really be mad at coronavirus more than companies reacting to coronavirus.
