He did start getting the “_____ can’t win in the playoffs” talk a bit earlier than most. He’s the age Jordan was in 89, Lebron in 2010, Shaq in 98, and Curry in 14. Curry was down 50 points vs the Clippers losing in the first round older than Giannis is now and Giannis has been hearing how he can’t win for like 3 years already.
When you make it nothing but team success while praising people who won by any means you make it obvious what these guys have to do.
You got the league 25 years of nothing but ring count standing in for basketball created.
Why not play with a gang of stars or join some established team that needs one piece? Everyone praises the people winning that way.
It doesn’t matter to fans if your sidekick is a first ballot hall of famer who can win a series for you and the other guy has a borderline all star who can’t.
The winner gets the love.
So go win.
Isnt that what we’ve been teaching the kids for decades now?
Yall still laughing at Barkley for playing with Hawkins and Armen Gilliam while the guys winning in his prime had dream teams.
These kids aren’t trying to be clowned in graphics and memes for 30 years like Chuck because fans are stupid. Send chuck back to the 80s. Bet he demands a trade before he lost a step and went to Phoenix slightly declined and with a hurt KJ and old Chambers having fell off.

KD didn't get "love" so that isn't true.

KD didn't get "love" so that isn't true.
KD immediately had a huge number of people talking about back to back finals mvps and how he was the best player in the league with the two time mvp now giving him the spot as that teams best player. He clearly got more hate than the other primary super team builders due to the team he won already having won and established itself but....2019 KD was absolutely higher regarded than 2016. Still mocked but he clearly chose to be laughed at for how he won over laughed at for how he lost. And that’s a worst case scenario.
Nobody in 40 years will be mad at KD. They will barely know the story. These guys play the long game and compete for a place in history. For that you need rings. And history has shown the details always get forgotten.

This league is garbage now... parity is at an all time low.

Such LeBron mentality, these just don't want to compete.
when your career is over and they clown you for not having any rings, i think it means they actually respect you and consider you to be championshio material in the first place.
nobody ever clowns reggie miller for never winning. because nobody ever put him in that "supposed to be a champion" category.
chuck was in that category though, and so is giannis.

There's only been three "great" team hops in modern NBA history where the team hop was so strong, they were instant favorites to win the title. Even Boston in 2008 weren't the favorites... they were number 4 or 5. We all know what these team hops were... '10 Lebron, '14 Lebron, and '16 KD. All teams were #1 favorites going into the season. Ruined basketball with this WWE stuff...
Now we have Giannis wanting to do the same thing because he knows you aint winning with eric bledsoe and middleton when your competition has much stronger supporting help.

Parity? I dare say it was lower when the Celtics and Lakers played each other in the finals 8-9 times in Russell’s career and he won 11 rings in 13 years. Then the Lakers and Celtics made a combined 5 finals in the 70s and maybe...14 or so with Bird and Magic.
Id say there is parity because of how often the best teams change now. Lakers, Cavs, Warriors, Clippers, Raptors, and Nets just pop outta nowhere every couple years.
Great teams used to dominate a whole era. Now you get like 3 years and your stars rebuild new teams elsewhere.
It’s weird but I’m not sure teams have had the chance to go from nothing to something so quickly before.
Cavs, Warriors, Clippers, and Raptors were all on “Nobody can win there” lists around the time of the last lockout. And people just shift around and make contenders at the least or dynasties at best overnight in all of them.
I wouldn’t call it good for the game overall....but it makes for better off seasons and gives teams a chance to pull something out of a hat because a player pr two knows they won’t have to be there for life.
Quick 1+1 deal and your city can have a super team...and then suck for 16 years after the ride is over.
Heat about to do it again.

The '08 Celtics were very easily considered the favorites when they formed that team.
Stop trying to rewrite history.

"Wake up, folks -- this is one of the best teams of all time, and you might be surprised how easily they roll through the playoffs. I realize this is raining on the parade a bit since everybody is so jacked up about the competition in store this postseason, but I have to warn you there's a chance the Celtics are just going to flat-out destroy everybody.
Boston went 66-16, one of the best marks in league history, but even that mark sells the Celtics short. At 10.3 points per game, they had the scoring margin of a 70-win team. That scoring margin is better than all but three teams since the ABA-NBA merger, and those teams all had Michael Jordan"

The Celtics were ranked behind the Mavericks, Spurs, Suns, and Cavaliers in the pre-season leading up to the 2008 season.
KG and Ray had already been traded to Boston in June/July of 2007.
Take a look and learn.

Ok so what's the point? You kinda of have to in this colluding era if you want to compete. It's not great for the game but it is what is.

It always cracks me up when people talk about lack of parity today when the league has NEVER had parity :lol 60's, 80's, 90's & '00's were all completely dominated by 1-2 teams

kblaze is right ...
Not because I am a Bucks fan , but I would of liked to have seen one ring from Lebron if he had stayed with Cleveland,
and the same holds true with Giannis if he stays 6 years with the Bucks and wins one ring --- when he goes to the HOF I can bet the
world he goes in as a Buck.
It all depends how big your shoulders are , or how wide your lapels are to be a cream puff.

This league is garbage now... parity is at an all time low.
Coming from the guy who thinks Chris Paul is worse than Isiah because he hasn’t made a finals.
I hope Giannis gang rapes the NBA with AD and LeBron for some boring 3-peat. Not that it’ll change anything ultimately. But people rationalizing cartoonish examples of the how worthless rings are would be fun for a day or two.

Shut up idiot!
Not Like Jordan's bulls won 6 championships in 8 years
Not Like the Lakers went to 4 straight finals from 2000-2004
Not like Russell Celtics 8 straight championships
Parity has never existed in the NBA.
This league is garbage now... parity is at an all time low.
Low iq post.
Most likely the reason you said that is because bran made straight 8x trips to the finals.

Curry was getting to Finals and winning championships after he started winning MVPs.
Pre-Warriors Durant is a better example. The media was soft on him and a sports columnist had to apologize for Mr Unreliable headline.

He can only get traded to Lakers and Lakers don't have anything that bucks want
Raptors are delusional idiots who need to start rebuilding already. What's your pitch? You have 37 year old Lowry? Lol
The only team I can see is maybe Dallas mavericks or just staying with bucks

Wait, doesn't this kill your whole Dirk narrative?
His team was the favorite. Over a team with three HOFers and Rondo.......

They were also the favorite the previous year.....
So much for the narrative of Dirk not having anyone, right?

Moses Malone joined a team that made the Finals 2 times in the previous 3 years, but I have never heard that get brought up on this forum to diminish his legacy.

But he's right Moses was typically in the lower end of the top 10 before this era. We never held that against him, like in the sense of it not even being a talking point of his all time rank or career.
