critics are questioning the fit and overall pick because they think Ayton and him will not be able to share the court since Ayton is a post player. But Jalen is a good 3pt shooter, good enough that he should be able to play the 4 while Ayton plays the 5, and their defenses would actually compliment each other. Ayton is an exception perimeter defender, he can stay in front of almost any guard. While Jalen has stiff hips and can't defend the switch, but he's a great shot blocker and help defender. I would keep an eye on that duo's defense.

Offensive fit would be dangerous in my opinion, CP3 can feed anyone and he's going to have a feast for Ayton and Jalen...two big guys that can catch lobs and shoot? Sheeeeeiiiit. Then you factor in Book will be the on court as well. I mean, the opposing defense will have a tough time planning around this squad. :rolleyes:

pretty sure that was year 1. and you haven't watched enough of him apparently, he's on his tip toes out there, and defends guards pretty good for a big guy.

again, most people including yourself, are stuck on year 1 version of ayton. coming out of college the narrative was "horrible defender". then months into his nba career he started displaying that he's not terrible at defense, the last couple of weeks he had lockdown sessions where he hosted block parties. he even shut down giannis.

season 2 he missed 30 games but the ones he did play showed a huge improvement in defense. like YUGE. then in the bubble, he was locking down all sorts of starts...luka, porzingins, dame, morant, etc. watch the vid pal, he's making big leaps in improvement.

yes. his year 1 highlights didn't have as many thud sounding blocks as year 2. year 2 as you can see clearly above, he stole the ball from jokic like he stole it from a kid, his blocks make a noisy thud sound sort of like thunder...but it's just PED Ayton protecting the rim and blocking the ball into the stands. he stonewalled a rushing giannis, giannis dropped his shoulder and went into ayton's chest, giannis bounced back, ayton stood his ground. same result when drummond tried to score on ayton, he bounced off ayton. same result with steve adams, porzingis, etc.

his strength is off the charts
